I think this is the category I throw $15 in for 'coin operated laundry" - whether or not I do laundry whilst on the road.
-
Ah, I was thinking gloves, hard hat, safety vest, things of that nature.
I'm very rarely out longer than 8-9 days at the most, so I just carry a laundry bag back and forth to the truck.tsavory and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I had to wear clothes to drive, so I always counted any clothing, shoes and underwear included, as uniforms.

Don't quote me on the figure, up to 300 bucks if i remember right, can be claimed on typical clothing or all of the cost if you buy specific uniforms. Plus another 200 for boots, again, don't quote that specific number. I save receipts and look up the number to make sure i don't claim too much but don't retain the figure in my head for whatever reason. Getting old sucks.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

The IRS is pretty particular about the definition of work clothes & uniforms; it has to be:
1) required
2) not suitable for everyday wear

Same here - but I inevitably leave some 'chunk' of clothing behind at home , like all my jeans, or singlets, and then get hit with 'hot sweaty load', 'dirt lot load', or 'rain on you only while loading ' , thus necessitating a trip to the well maintained, clean and reasonably priced truck stop laundry.

Makes me wonder if I should claim my steel toe loafers. They have a casual look, but will still set off the security scanners at the entrance of any IRS office.whoopNride, double yellow, spyder7723 and 3 others Thank this.

Hey Blair, wasn't it you that got a new seat from danny? Mind posting the make and model number? It's time to replace mine and you said that one was extremely comfortable.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
