Not me. Just coming off home time. Took my mom to the dr Friday. Got good news/bad news. First, she does not have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (which is hereditary). Good news. But she does have Charcot foot. Which is caused by diabetes. The dr wants her to do physical therapy and see him every 6-8 weeks for the foreseeable future. The surgery options are still the same in any case. Either they pretty much break her entire foot and ankle, cut the tendons and stuff, and reconstruct it, which has a recovery period of 2-3 years, with 3-6 months of zero weight on it, due to the slow healing of diabetics. Or it has to be amputated. Neither of which is an option right now since she has so many other health issues. So basically we were told that she may not survive the surgery so they don't want to do it. Perhaps if she had not waited so long, it might've been different. So she's stuck having to wear, in her words, "a frankenstein boot". But at least she can walk, sort of, and live.
All this leaves me in a quandary. I need to be home more. I have already spoken with Alan and Walter, but at the time didn't have very much information since we had not seen the dr yet. Now I need to figure out how to balance her needs with my need to make money, and stay here with the company I like (obviously). So I will be getting up with them to figure out a plan.
I have been so stressed out about this all weekend that I made myself sick. Plus all the running around I had to do for her and me in the heat didn't help. I was supposed to come back out yesterday, but I was sick all day and was up all night Sunday with the "oh so not pretties". Felt like hell all day and most of the night last night, and really don't feel like being out here now, but gotta make that $$, so picking up at Givens in Chesapeake and headed to Berea KY for tomorrow afternoon.WotansVolkman, Gwh1184, chralb and 4 others Thank this. -

@RebelChick sorry to hear what you and your mom is going through but some options is better than none at least she can move around, your both in my prayers and I am sure you will figure out what to do to be home more.
MidWest_MacDaddy, Finfn1372, scottlav46 and 1 other person Thank this. -
One of your drivers was delivering at BI-LO in Greenville, SC earlier in the week and got stuck there because he didn't have a EFS check, or whatever you guys use. He spent the next 45 minutes or so walking up and down the line knocking on every truck door he can find, including mine. I couldn't help him as we use Commdata.
MidWest_MacDaddy and JohnBoy Thank this. -
I've read every post . Conclusion , just another crap company
