Man, for 62k that dealer better be supplying the lube for free. Keep looking, there are better deals out there. I saw one dealer that wanted 98k for 2009 heavy haul tractors and they are still sitting there.
RERM Thanks this. -
It is a lease purchase
I will not be paying the truck off. I will be learning the ropes and saving a little money -
There are a lot of 2012 trucks on the market right now with decent miles and good prices. There is a culture of fear surrounding emissions trucks, mostly spread by people who have never owned one themselves. I got a 2012 truck with a Cummins for 54,500 with decent miles and an APU. It has been great and my MPG for the quarter was 8.2; hub miles divided by total gallons. Don't buy in to what many on here will tell you about the modern emissions trucks. It's all about proper maintenance.

What he said. My 2013 DD15 was great. Now I have a 2016 DD16.

NO!
The earth is flat and we refuse to hear these lies about DPF trucks!!fordconvert, uncleal13, Oscar the KW and 3 others Thank this. -
I don't fear new engines. Cause with pepper maintenance they do have a track record of decent reliability. However, they still cost more to maintain than a pre emissions truck. Also when buying used you don't know if that emissions system was properly maintained.

With this statement in mind, have you considered working for a fleet owner?
I've often considered buying a few more trucks again and using them as a mentoring tool for guys that want learn what it takes to be succesful owning a truck. And in sure I'm not the only one that has thought of this, you might be able to find a guy where you could make more than you currently do, and learn the business side at the same time. -
Agreed. The cost is higher but the intervals are at 250k and 300k. The newest models are longer intervals. When you buy one you must get the maintenance records and run the VIN with the respective dealer to see what has and has not been done.
