I work for DHT. I have been with them for a while. Probably the best company I have ever worked for in my 11 years of driving. I don't know where you got your information about DHT being a bottom feeder. Nothing could be less true than that. These folks offer great benefits and they reimburse your vision and dental straight from DHT. Of course, there are limitations to that. I had my bottom teeth pulled and a denture put in place and it cost me less than $100 from my own pocket. I just got new glasses with an eye exam and it didn't cost me a dime. As for their medical insurance, they pay a huge part of the $2500 annual deductible. Do you know ANYONE ELSE who will do that?? They run mostly KW tractors with just a handful of Freightliners they are trying to get rid of. Some of the older trucks are worn out and they are getting them replaced. For a small company with about 350 rigs, they do very well. They have 4 full time chaplains available for you at anytime and these chaplains will call you monthly to check up on you. As for the miles, the average length of haul is 1500 miles and the pay is good. You are splitting, as a team, rookie pay of .36 cpm. Do the math. That rig should run an average of 600 miles per driver per day. That is $216 a day. Don't let these "super drivers" fool you or try to persuade you that this company is a bottom feeder. DHT is one fine company and I will not drive for anyone else ever again. So, unless you want to work for someone who gives most of their freight to the rail or only gets you about 200 miles per week, I highly suggest you give DHT another look.

I know this is an old post but a chance to rant is a chance to rant. I made possibly the worst starting career choice for trucking (a whole 25cpm split) the recruiters make it sound like a great thing because the truck doesn't stop rolling. But thats the problem the truck never ever stops moving. So showering and washing laundry just isn't happening. After spending 6 months there on the promise of better pay and more oppertunities to take care of basic nessicities. Nowa days i don't even get out of bed for less than 42cpm. (Still a company driver those lease programs are a joke.)

    forget all that noise

come run teams at Interstate Distributor

we each get 24.75 cpm and the truck does 6200-6800 per week

we run 24-27k miles a month

hit 23k or more in a month and its 3 cpm more each driver additional pay for all miles truck does.

hazmat gets $7500 bonus each driver
non hazmat gets $6000 bonus each driver
half is disbursed within 90 days
other half @ 1 year anniversary date

they gave us a brand new 2016 auto cascadia with APU, fridge and inverter.

if you stay 90 days ill give you half the referral bonus they give me, this is either $500 or $1000 (each driver) depending on hazmat endorsement.

they will match you if you have no partner

they will pay the fees to get hazmat

ive run 4 placarded loads since 3/1/16

ive done 3 live loads in the same time

    its true team dispatch

if trends continue ill have a $77k W2 in 10 months of work

image.png take home, seriously? unless we have the same deductions for benefits, investments and taxes, comparing take home checks is like comparing apples to oranges. nothing inflated, i show anyone i talk to face to face a copy of my current pay stub and divide it by the number of times ive been paid, just got my 20th check. i also dont accept per diem because the tax deduction is much, much higher if i take the 80% of the irs daily allowance.
