At my current company I drove for the past five years we sent a message through the Qualcomm but now they want us to call it in since some new guys made mistakes so now they are punishing everyone. This wouldn't be a problem if they actually answered their phone. So that makes me wonder do any other company drivers have to call in their BOL info or do you text/email?

Yeah we are told not to do that anymore. So I'm thinking about leaving now since I'm the last guy left after everyone quit.

The company that husband works for has only a live call when picking up a load. Sometimes it is for generalized info. I believe too that it was started because of some mistakes by rookies. It is a pain when you can't get an answer and don't have time to wait till they do.

At the account for my company, a VERY big carrier in the Southeast, we must send a qualcomm macro, call in the info, and print the info on a trip sheet to be turned in at end of shift. I think other parts of the company just use qualcomm.

E logs and workflow eliminate all of that. A message for us to send pops up every time we arrive at the shipper/receiver.

Ready for next load? Hours avail? Fuel level? Overage shortage damage? Who signed BOL? Can you make your next stop on time? (leaving shipper). Basically one word answers to questions, so dispatch can send ya something accordingly.

Isn't it great when the minority dictate to the majority?

Yes we have all that too but the pencil pushers that never seen the inside of a truck want us to call in everything the Qualcomm does now which is why it's annoying. I no longer can send a message and go.

Heck, I just send a text to the boss and that's the end of it. Glad I do not have to call it in like that as I can hardly reach mine on the phone as well.
