Being a good driver and getting a questionable tire taken care of before I drop the empty at jbs.....
At least that's what I'm telling myself...

Ok, if you go to JBS in Phoenix and get trailer 5925...I took it to the shop, and had the tires and rims checked out, and it was all AAAAAAAAAAAA OK.
I'm just saying that because it looks suspect. Maybe I'll get it back heh, load wont be ready until *Checks watch* 2300 8/5/16.... -
Ft Worth yard have a washout nearby, or do I have to head to the beacon in weatherford?
-
Just kidding, not sure, ive always just Beconed them.Saturday Thanks this. -
Ok so I have a "Solution" @Steel_Tiger....
I think there needs to be a new Macro. Call it...Trailer Condition Report.
This macro would need to be sent in any time you do a drop or pickup, be it an empty at the yard or a loaded for a swap or an empty/loaded at a shipper/receiver.
In this macro, you are basically certifying the condition of the trailer.
Are the tires DOT compliant?
Any Leaks?
Lights?
Brakes?
Fuel?
Dirty?
Chute?
Basically just one "Is there anything wrong with this trailer? Yes/No Description. And if you say yes, you're basically about to pay the swap/pickup driver to do your job for you.
I know it kind of mirrors the drop empty trailer request macro in where it asks about condition. Just move that out of that macro into this macro.
The big obvious ones that we seem to always find at a shipper/receiver/yard.
That way if a driver drops a good trailer, and marks it good, and the next driver gets it, and its got say a flat tire, it would be the fault of the shipper/receiver and the dropping driver wouldent get a chargeback. But if you drop a trailer and call it good, and you've got 2 bald tires and 3 leaking seals? CHARGEBACK.
Chargeback you say? Yes, 1st offense for filling one of these out and lying, warning. Next. you float 50 bucks from your settlement to the driver who had to clean up your mess. Possibility of more if its blatant (The two bald tire 3 leaking seal scenario, or dirty with a dropped chute or something, like you KNEW it needed to be fixed and you still say "EFF IT".)
If it is reasonable that it happened at the receiver/shipper (Like a nail or something), the clean up driver still gets 50 bucks for having to add a stop to their trip (Which is basically what you're doing) to fix it.
Basically you're signing your name on the trailer "Yeah this one is good to go, no shop/fuel/washout needed.". And at the bottom of the macro "Driver will be charged for repairs if falsified."
The reason for doing it at pickup as well, is that we should all be pre-tripping picked up trailers anyways. When we sign that macro at pickup, the previous driver is basically released of responsibility if we find something later. Kind of prevents the "Well it was curbed, and the previous driver didn't say anything, you should charge him" "BS! IT wasent curbed you're lying you did it" fights. Once you sign it, you own it. Slip it in before the Depart Shipper Macro. Of course if something happens in route, I guess it would be up to JCT to pay for the stop to repair. I think it should be considered an added stop, except 50 bucks. Unless its flat out neglect on your part (You curb and pop a tire or something).
Also, to get the 50 bucks from JCT for repairs it has to be a legitmate concern that GETS repaired. Me getting the tires checked today before dropping the trailer, since they said nothing is wrong with them and they didn't need to be repaired/replaced; no 50 bucks. That will try to prevent people from gaming the system and try to get 50 bucks added to every trip they do, and ruin this for everyone with legitimate concerns. You bring it in for a repair, and the trailer gets a check and advise. So you cant replace one tire at a time every trip that you have the trailer. (See! Thinking about loopholes.)
That's basically what I was thinking about while climing and decending the 17 this morning.
TL;DR version. Drivers have to sign off on trailer condition in a macro and get fined for lying. Forcing responsibility instead of "EFF em, JCT will pay em!"Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
Kind of just realized what I just described is a "Vehicle Inspection Report"......which we already have on the QUALCOMM...in its own section....
-
Do t we already have a macro for a messed up trailer? Also when you drop at JBS or some others the yard dog could do some damage and it come back to the driver. I watched a yard dog back a crst trailer into a central and then just straighten it out and drive away. I have also seen them pop tires etc.

Yea those "inspections" lol

On another note I'm getting hitched on the 9th. Also I decided to team with a friend of mine after I come off hometime on the 15th. So, if your DM says a team is coming to rescue your load, and one of the drivers steps out wearing thigh-high snakeskin cowboy boots, and a yellow speedo complete with red suspenders, it's a pleasure to meet you. I prefer to dress like a professional because that is what the customers expect.
