Made the Rocky Mount yard with a minute left on my 11. My wife picked me up and took me back to Plymouth. Thats the thing I miss about reefer. You can off duty drive up to your 14. Not so with dry van and Cargo. If I can hold out until the new terminal is finished, I can stage my car there for the 70 mile drive to Plymouth instead of getting my wife to get me then take me back. Hurry up November!!

You shouldn't be having to drive 70 miles to get your truck anyway. Company policy says if you live more than 50 miles from your terminal you can take your truck home. But believe it when you see it.

Been a really busy past few days for me... Last week left the house on Tuesday around 1300. Picked up in Cornelius going to Waycross, Georgia. Delivered the same day around 2200. Went up to Savannah the next day going up to Statesville, went home to the Charlotte yard for my 10, then did the Cornelius to Waycross load again the next day. Then to Albany for a load to Indian Trail. Then I went home around 2300 Friday. Every single one of these loads was a drop & hook at the shipper, and the consignee. That's actually kind of impressive for a company with only 600 trucks. 1800 miles from Tuesday afternoon to late Friday evening. Also, did just under 10000 miles for the month of July.

This week i started early on Monday with a load dropped in Charlotte going to Hendersonville. It was a live unload, breaking my streak, but they only took about an hour. Went up to North Cove for a load going to Maryland, but I dropped that at Cargo HQ. Then scored me a good run from Monroe to Carrollton, TX. Finally! My first run over 1000 miles, and the first time crossing the Mississippi in a cargo truck. Got to my customer in TX about 2 hours early today, and they got me empty in 30 mins. I had to bicker at the guy because I couldn't squeeze a good nap in. The nerve of some people!!! Lol attempted to pick up my preloaded trailer in Dallas afterward, but by the time I arrived, the shipping office was closed. Trailer even had a kingpin lock on it. No overnight parking allowed, so here I wait at the lovely Dallas TA to pick her up in the AM. Should have about 2500 miles for this week when I get back to North Carolina.

I think I would rather drive my vehicle when the new yard opens. I am running out of clock getting home to Plymouth a lot lately. Only once would I have not made it Rocky Mount.

Got 10000 miles in the month of July, but there were 5 Fridays. On the other hand, I was off one week. My miles were 2192, 3234, 1994, 0, 2615. Also to clarify, that 3234 would have been less and the 1994 would have been higher if I had actually gotten the load at Wakefield MA by 685 miles. As it was I deadheaded home and got prepaid on the earlier paycheck so it shows as a wild swing in my miles. Missed the quarterly bonus by 2057 miles. Proving a little harder than I thought. Had 2076 first week of August but this past week, 26-2700. Need to do six day weeks rather than five to keep the miles up and gat my 34-48 hr resets at the house. Leave out this afternoon for QVC Rocky Mount going to Lasership in Charlotte. My fleet leader promised me it was a pure drop and hook and not wait 2 hours for a door and then 2 more for the unload. The detention ain't worth it. Barely 200 mile trip. We will see. If I had to guess, a late night pickup at Wix Filters in Gastonia to Connecticut or Mass, or upstate NY.

I might be too late with this information, but I can assure you Lasership in Charlotte is indeed a drop and hook. They keep their empty trailers up the street. When leaving laser ship, make a left back onto Service St. Bear to the right for Upper Asbury Ave and take that road till you get to the dead-end. You'll see our trailers in a parking lot off the street.

And if it's any consolation, your load is a heck of a lot better than mine. Got assigned a 2 stop load around 9:15 today picking up in Fort Mill, SC due in Tampa, FL tomorrow at 06:00. Uh... They know my truck doesn't fly right? Currently doing a split sleeper then haul butt first thing in the AM. Hopefully they can burn at least 2 hours unloading me. The second stop is in Weston (near Miami) for 04:30 Wednesday.

Well I am on vacation this week. But my dispatcher was on vacation last week so I got 2600+ for the week. Got killed at O'reilly Auto Parts in Mass. 11 hour wait but still turned a good week.

    Swedish Chef Thanks this.

I've been trying to get on with this company for months now, recruiter Rebecca said they don't have any trainers available out of the Rocky Mount because they have trainees already. Sucks cause I live in Tarboro about 10 mins from the Rocky Mount terminal, and this is one of the only companies I know that can get me home almost weekly with my experience I really wanna run with them, cause I hear mostly good things but, what can I do

Just hang in there. Some people have waited a couple of months. But keep in touch with Rebecca and a spot will open up. Great place to start and get experience.

If you're willing to drive your own vehicle, you might want to see if there's a trainer out of Claremont. It will cut your break short but it will only be a couple of months. That's what I did, but I was in the midst of moving. I had a 3 hr driving each way.
