Sitting here at the petro in new paris ohio waiting for my next load and i decide to go inside here and give the Verizon girl a fair shake at selling me on a verizon plan. Unlimited everything, even data, each phone has a hotspot of 3gb, subsidized phones. Since they don't have unlimited data, I'd have to get a shared family data plan. I alone use about 40gb in a billing cycle, my wife, and our daughters use about 5gb a month each. She quoted me about $400 a month for everything above.

Sorry verizon, but you can take a hike. I'm not giving up everything above to increase my bill by almost $100

I agree. I switched to Verizon for a short time and the cost went way up. I admit they had slightly better service in some areas, but it wasn't worth it to me. When I went back to Sprint, well, lets just say Verizon wasn't very accommodating...at all...in any way. Anyway, been back with Sprint for awhile now and its getting the job done. I hit more dead spaces, but that's not so bad. I also went to renting my phone rather than buy it. I didn't see the reason to actually buy a phone anymore since it will never be used once you upgrade.

Wow, pricey. I'm glad I still have my unlimited data plan, just have to pay for phones.

Watch how much data you use. There is a plan at Verizon starting the end of this month to suspend or terminate service for excessive data users that are off contract and force them to either go on a tiered plan or leave Verizon. No exact amount of data was specified when they said 'excessive data user', but it was expected to be those that exceed 100gig/month.

So now that the official 'can you hear me now" Verizon guy has switched, how improved is Sprint. If VZW shoots me down for using too much unlimited data, I may be in the market to switch carriers.

I'll be honest, I've only been with two carriers, Cingular/at&t and sprint. Ive been with sprint now for 8 years. It gets spotty at times. But I've yet to be at a truck stop or rest area where i couldn't get a signal. And most times I'm on 4g with a few times at 3g but still connected. I used to have a verizon company phone and it was horrible where i live, so that's the main driver behind me having a sprint phone

But i can say this, i stream movies out the ###, and run my xbox one off my hotspot and play shooters if that tells you anything.

If you run Kansas easy texas on north into Minnesota/Wisconsin you'll have no issues. Up in rural Montana/wyoming is where i have 90% of my problems

Thats the biggest hang up with Verizon. Their data rates are ridiculous. Our bill with 3 phones and 30gb plan is $270 month. $400,.. wow. That is steep.

I pay extra for Verizon because I need the larger service area they cover. I can not be with out a signal.

We knocked our bill down to $220 a month by dropping down to 20gb per month. I dont need the extra data now that I got satellite TV set up in my truck. Even with the satellite TV bill its still less than I paid for Verizon with the 30gb plan.

I cant bare to leave Verizon's service though. I dont like the price,.. but compared to what I went through on other carriers,.. my business depends on their service. Plus its a write off for me anyway.

I'm still using my sprint note2. Just because it isn't activated don't mean it still can't be used. Mine is a gps tablet for copilot, mp3 player and dash cam.

I was going to give my family my verizon note2 to use for a gps tablet. But when i got the s6 i shut the note2 down. 2 days later i turned it on so i could download my apps. NO DICE. Little did i know that when i shut if off. It would be for good. The sprint note2 still chugs along.

I'll use my old phones. They still have use and it beats buying a new toy for my needs.

You pay pretty much the same price between renting and buying so why not buy. Then you get to keep it.

You use way to much data to make VZW worthwhile.
    The data is expensive.
Without my old unlimited data plan not sure what I would do.
    Sprint and TMo are worthless.

I think in this case, for a data user such as myself, sprint is the better option
