Personally, I would turn it around on them, to ask what their benefits are for seniority? If they max out vacation time after 3 years, then that's a two way street.

Manager: "we require 2 weeks notice before you're quitting"

Employee: "Well, um. In 2 weeks, you gonna notice I ain't been here for 2 weeks.

I would some how impress upon them I will not tolerate being used or abused or otherwise be treated like garbage. As long as that doesn't happen, then we can talk about the rest.

    Lol I'm same way.

Unless they will say to you, " hey, it's not working out, we'll give you 2 weeks to find another job" f them.

Say something off the wall, like: I shall stay until the yonder cows trot home. May they graze while the gold is heavy; for if its weight wanes, home I shall usher them steadfastly!

It'll at least buy you time for a real answer.

They are asking you that so they don't have to pay Stay Metrics, a company which contracts with truck companies to call new hire drivers and interview them extensively poll style to get a feel for how long they plan on staying with said companies. Then they feed all that data into computers which spit out results that are likely to keep drivers at prospective companies longer.

I get calls and texts from Stay Metrics all the time. The one time I answered the phone, she informed me my company uses them (like that is supposed to guilt trip me into staying on the line to answer a bunch of questions). I told her I wasn't interested in the survey, and she did another mind control trick of asking me "SO you're *refusing* to take my survey?" I just said have a nice day after that.

Tell 'em you plan to own this company one day! Figured starting at the bottom was the best way to go!
