Welcome Big Kountry! I live 50 miles east of you in Plymouth. Surprised they don't have any trainers in Rocky Mount with as many drivers as we have from that region. I have discovered another Cargo driver parking at the Wilco Hess in Plymouth too, but yet to meet him (or her). 2796 last week, but this week I am having to work the weekend to break 2000. Lasership load went ok then picked up at Wix Filters and carried it to Claremont. Good load going to Baltimore and Albany but gave it up because it was too tight on time and needed body work. Ended up going to North Bergen NJ with some furniture and a backhaul to Henderson. Pick up this morning in Kinston going to Enfield Connecticut then a backhaul from M
Northampton MA. No idea what it is. Then home on Monday/Tuesday.

Well last week only got me 1857 miles, but I also had 2 stops @ $40 bucks each so I still had a decent check. I was surprised to see they pay 40 per stop, only got 25 a stop at all my old carriers.

I'm fine with the short week, since I absolutely needed to be home on Friday. Saturday me and Mrs. Zilla traveled down to rural NE Georgia to see a Corgi puppy we put a down payment on. She wanted to see him, and I wanted to make sure everything was legit. We'll be taking him home on Labor Day weekend when he's 2 months old. We're so excited!

Left the house on Sunday eve, picked up in Monroe Friday before I headed home heading for Wallingford, CT. Took me about 10 tries to back into this place but I got 'er done. Traveled out to Edison, NJ next for a Murphy's law of a load heading to Garysburg, NC. Got loaded promptly, but I scaled the load in Bordentown & was 35240 on my drives with the tandems all the way forward. By the time I got back to the customer to get reworked, the place was closed. Had to wait til this morning to rework the load. I suggested they load the trailer in a chimney pattern. Sure enough, went back to scale & weighed out perfectly. Then I discovered a trailer tire with a patch of tread that isn't DOT legal. So here I sit at the Petro getting my tire replaced... Fun times!

Thanks! But there's no way in hell the Mrs. would let me take him away from her anyway. I don't blame her, though. image.jpeg

2273 last week. Had to stay out nine days as I had 1440 Friday. Took a trip to Enfield CT with the McDonalds napkins from Best Diamond Packaging in Kinston. Then the backhaul from Coca Cola in Northampton Mass to Coca Cola in Charlotte. Slept on the Charlotte dropyard Mon night and deilvered Tues morning. Thinking I would be headed to Claremont for my load home, I was sent to Lincolnton to Room and Board to take to the Claremont yard then pickup my load to Lowes Garysburg then go home. I was bumping my 70 and with less than 8 and a half hours left the side trip was eating my time and for what $30 (70 miles)? Hate that! Got to Claremont with 7 hours left and got caught in Raleigh rush hour, doubled back to I 85, got to Garysburg with 2:15 left, drop.and hook, left there with 1:58 left and made it the Plymouth Wilco.Hess with :08 left, logged post trip and shut clock off with a minute left on my 70. Whew! Did It! It was 950 pm and I was tired. 450 miles and three drop and hooks, but finally home for a 34 or 48.

Well here I sit at Associated hygienic in Delaware Ohio. What's supposed to be here at 7 p.m. which I was and was supposed to be 30 miles away at Kellogg at 7 p.m. for my back hall to Salisbury. Makes perfect sense don't it? Been here since 7 p.m. it's now 11 p.m. and not one truck has pulled away from a door. And there are seven in front of me. I don't need to worry about this 6 hours left of drive time. Call night time dispatch to let them know I would not be getting to Kellogg's tonight. They said they will let them know, yeah right!

I sat there 8 1/2 hours last week before I even got to a door. When they finally got me unloaded I basically had my break completed. Fortunately my back haul was a drop and hook at Anheiser Bush.

Last week shaped up to be a decent week, despite the hiccups on that Edison to Garysburg load. Got 2700 miles & $50 for dealing with the weights and the tire. Got a QVC load the next morning going straight back to Meriden, CT. But the timing of this load would send me straight into DC rush hour, so I improvised and took 301 instead. I don't know if it saved me any time with all the stop lights. Frankly, I don't care. The capital is a miserable place to be during rush hour.

The rest of the trip went well, even the traffic on the GWB was tame. I was an hour and a half late to my delivery (there wasn't enough time given) but I was still unloaded in 40 mins. I even heard someone in the warehouse say "the trucks here!" as I was delivering the paperwork, so I knew I wouldn't be there long. Next load picks up in East Hartford, at a warehouse with a parking lot you could land a plane on! I only spent a half hour there and my trailer was filled to the brim with ceiling fans going to Statesville. Dropped that and went home.

I could be wrong, but I feel like some shippers and receivers in the NE are aware of the discrimination of trucks in the vicinity, so they get you in an out quickly so you can escape. Then again, what do I know? I'm just a stupid trucker.

No, no. The term is monkey behind a wheel! Not meant to be offensive, so please don't take it that way. Whenever I get to a shipper/receiver that wants to be crazy, I just tell them that I'm just the monkey behind the wheel and go where/when dispatch sends me. You'd be surprised how it calms the situation down!
