In the few trips I have had to the L.A. area, it has always sucked.

Fortunately the place I delivered to actually got me unloaded quickly. I got there an hour and a half early, then they had me back up to my door, still sealed, I figured I'd be sitting there a while. Once they had me open the doors up and back all the way in, they pulled the stuff off, handed me the paperwork and sent me on my way it wasn't even my appointment time yet. More places need to be like that!! I took the 405 up north, which gave me a decent view of LAX, it was messed up through there too. They had the scale before grapevine closed so I didn't have to worry about that. The most frustrating thing about this state is people cannot merge at all.... Especially when all 3 or 4 lanes come to a stand still at every single on ramp. Going through gravevine the trucks, especially the LA port container trucks, have a habit of sitting next to each other and hogging the rhs 2-3 lanes. Good luck trying to get them to pass on the CB.

Just getting ready now to run north of Bakersfield, load up and head back to the "land of the cheeseheads". I'm hoping to get routed back to the yard, been hoping for word on the status on the new truck. Yeah it sounds impatient, but I definitely want to get some time in on that auto before the snow flies.

The 405 is the worst freeway in the country lol. Always packed no matter what time. The bad part about LA is the rules on the grapevine and there are more junked out trucks there than anywhere.

It is my understand that for some weird reason that not many drivers who do not live in that area know is that that the drivers in The stretch of the 405, I-5 and I15 areas north of Ontario stay on channel 15 and not CB channel 19.

I was wondering about that... I noticed the radio was dead silent that whole day and all the way up to the Tulare area as I drove up north. For a while I wasn't sure if the "antennae" on this freightshaker was working right. I'm not exactly much of a fan of the that system freightliner put on the cascadia models. Hoping for word on the Volvos soon. I'm definitely looking forward to having a truck with "real" CB antennas. Of course that's kind of relative though, I see a lot of trucks these days that don't have radios at all. And a lot of people don't exactly "talk" like they used to, this being the age where people will just text to each other even if they are sitting in the same room. Not to knock other races and nationalities, and considering I'm still a bit new to running California, it still feels like I'm in a different country when I go through that state lol.

Funny thing is when I roll through a few of the areas some of the farms and gated buildings reminded me of Angeles City (north of Manila just outside the old Clark AFB)where my girl lives.

Looks like they got me preplanned to pick up Monday and deliver closer to the yard Tuesday morning. Really hoping its to get me into the yard and I'll give you 20 guesses why. Crossing my fingers at this point, and I've been hoping for some kind of indication from Mike as to when the new set of wheels will be ready.

I stand corrected on that, it is channel 17. not 15 (and not 19 for that area) it has been that way for years but I never knew why.

We run channel 17 up and down I-5 from Bakersfield up too Seattle. Then south of Bakersfield it turns to channel 15.
