Some little puke just had the nerve to say "I'll unload you right now if you move these two trailers".

    Pfffft...

Make me sit here this long and then ask me for that favor?

    Yeah, ok.

    I doubt that.

What we had there was one company moving out and another moving in at the same time.

Haha. I was trying to transfer freight to our interline carrier (North Park Transport) and I got dock-blocked as usual. The TM there also tried to get me to hostle his trailers.

Haha!!! Thanks but no thanks. Corporate policy and all... Will be back at 16:45 to give you your stuff.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

My day was already shot and I was already pissed by that point, so I was just content to continue to sit and listen to the detention charges accumulate.

I don't think we do detention charges. Freight volume is so soft in our region that many carriers won't even mention those. Our customers know it and some take full advantage of it. I had a 30 minute wait yesterday at some electrical supply place. My dispatcher told me to ride it out and let the guy finish checking his emails.

Seems to me every company would.

In your case though, it may be the consignee is the one picking up the tab.

Like @road_runner, the outfit I worked for didn't charge for detention. We did have a re-delivery fee, but I don't believe that was used much. A customer, (or a customer's customer,) would have had to really abuse the re-delivery possibility, to be charged for it.
