Are you implying that the TND740 is forthcoming? It seems the 520 was 2 years after the 510, and the 730 2 years after the 720. Plus all the truck stops are putting the tndx30's on sale

No, I am just clarifying that the x30's are not a "new" product since the driver stated he does not buy new products.

I have a rand mcnally tnd 730 and ever since the second map update the auto brightness has been malfunctioning and the unit tends to restart. every time I do the diagnosis and repair it shows 27 file problems. any suggestions on how to fix this. I don't have the time to send it in for repairs

This should have been posted in the Support Thread..

The auto Brightness is known and has been fixed in a Beta Version. It restarts due to coding that senses the unit is locking up. The problem files, you probably need to clear out your Component Cache folder and download again from the Dock Server.

Look in the support thread on how to look at your log files post 3138.

Please respond in the support thread. I opened that thread to narrow down issues to one thread instead of multiple threads.

Tba Garmin HQ is in Olathe KS. Just south of KC on the Kansas side. They also have their support there.

At least you won't have to deal with overseas call centers. I went right to Garmin HQ once. They have a store there too and on site support. Nothing like the ability to go right to the source.

Needs to hurry up. Hopefully they make it as fast as google maps app. I returned my 720 and 730 both are just clunky slow and seem like a gps from 1998. I will try a 740 but I need it as fast as google maps

With GoogleMaps you are not loading any maps. You simple have the server push them to you.

The 730 is pretty fast. I don't what standards you are looking for? A Cray Computer?

I guess I was used to copilot app on my phone. Zoom over to area pinch zoom in and go. Rand software is to slow for me. After playing with tons of gps apps on my iPhone...tomtom Garmin igo nav copilot here maps downloaded makes 730 to slow. Hell the garmin 770 was faster than rands cartoonish software

    Guess I'll stick with copilot
