Well, I finally get to see how well these new TK reefers work. Hauled a dry load into Minnesota, now loading going east and hopefully going to the house after I empty. Hopefully they'll have the new trucks ready by the time I get back out, plus this truck is gonna be up for maintenance soon I imagine.

The CB rules/guidelines for California are East/West freeways - Ch19, south of Hwy 46 (Famoso/Bakersfield) Ch15, and north of Hwy 46 Ch17.
This is due to the amount of trucks within the state, and the CB traffic congestion. -
You have to take their routing with a grain of salt, use your best judgment. They always list jumping off the Indiana toll rd at 39, I never do it and never heard anything about it. They also have you jump off of 64 in WV and get on 19, never do that either. When they route you out west through Hot Springs SD they forget Wy 220, according to the route that is listed would run you 100 miles out of your way. Just use your best judgment and you will never hear a word. Oh, and they are not avoiding toll roads, sometimes it may seem like it, but there is generally a reason for it. If you have an issue with a route, call them and question it.

They been running toll roads within reason from my experience, so it's been pretty decent for me since I discussed the routing they gave me through philly with them a few months back. Currently enjoying my last nite home, gathering and printing documents for my flights overseas I'll be taking when I start vacation in just under a couple months from now. The only thing I haven't done yet is the flight booking, hoping to get into Mapleton soon, both to discuss where I'm gonna park for that time off whether it'll be at the yard an I can catch the shuttle flight out of Fargo, or I take the truck home and fly out of Rochester. Plus I've been hoping to hear world on the new trucks based on what I was told be the office. Lots of stuff on my plate for the next couple of months.
As for that jumping off at in39, I did that a couple of times, last time I jumped off at the in49 exit, the 80/90-i94 interchange is a mess again. -
I took my vacation early because it is a family vacation that was already planned when I was hired. When I took vacation I parked the truck at home.
Anonymousproxy and MrLincoln Thank this. -
This turning out to be one of those weeks I should've never left home....or maybe September almost always turns out to be a complete PITA. I already had one 14 hour violation last week for about 2 minutes, when I picked up at a shipper who at one time used to allow parking just outside the gate, but when I showed up, the old truck parking area was barricaded off, and the shipper or even the town decided not to allow truck parking at all. Not to mention the guards at the place were not friendly at all. It was my load to get me home, so it was pucker time the whole way up from Virginia up to the receiver near Syracuse. Fortunately all of the NY scales were closed, even though the one just south of Syracuse was crawling with creeper cops and just opened up after I went by....
I get out of the house, picked up a load with the first drop that night near Pittsburgh, and fortunately that receiver had two side roads near the gate where I was able to park and take the rest of my 10. The bad part was I found a scrape mark on the side of that shiny new trailer, seems like it must've been during my meal stop on the way down, whoever did it obviously decided to run... maybe near Erie.
After heading out the next morning, I swapped for a load delivering in PA, an evening delivery, ran it all today and took the 8 hour sleeper period, with intent on taking a 2 hour sleeper break while getting offloaded. I get in early and unloaded fast, with little or no room to park in there, saw I still had a few hours, and since the next one didn't pick up until next evening, I headed to Carlisle thinking I'd get the trailer sprayed out then shut down until it was time to get loaded. Unfortunately the blue beacon was extra slow and even closed up the washout lane right as I was pulling in. I get done, and sneak into the petro right nearby as my 14 winds out.... and no parking. That's when I found out Qualcomm eliminated the "creep along" feature, so it switched me to driving fir the whole time I was creeping around the lot until a spot openned up.
I can't wait to see what happens when the idiots in Washington DC make Elogs mandatory for the whole industry the parking is gonna get worse out here.Last edited: Sep 23, 2016

Our omni-tracs are set to begin "trip" at .7 miles of movement...so you have to creep to about 1/2 then shut down the truck for a few seconds, then you can continue for the next 1/2 mile...had to do this the other early morning after unloading to get to a parking spot..sux..Last edited: Sep 25, 2016

Yep... I'll keep that one on mind.... got stuck in a bad back up earlier today near Dallas.....

It's been really quiet in this thread and on the company's fb page lately....
Currently set to deliver near Fargo then to the yard... nervously hoping for news on the new trucks. I talked with the shop on getting this one looked at for a possible recurring oil leak, and at the trailer for what looks a band-aid fix to one of the lights that was done by the previous driver and I didn't notice until I walked out to the truck after getting my fuel receipt over the weekend. Got a bit of reassurance on the truck being ready as soon as they got plates, but I guess I won't be sure until I have the keys in my hand and start switching stuff over. I guess maybe i get a tendency to get nervous about things when I haven't heard news on something for awhile and I get myself preparing for bad news.... yet I don't know why lol.
Rugerfan Thanks this. -
That is called anxiety lol. Deep breaths @Anonymousproxy. You will get the truck at some point.
I am currently in Dallas waiting for these very very slow people to unload me. If they hold me to long I will miss my reload
