I think this is the last time I take a load from Philadelphia macaroni to Campbell's, this is the second time this has happened where they order to much product and after sitting in line for 45 min just to check in and find out my reload isn't ready yet because we don't have any drop trailers there and then drive to the back to get unloaded and then told to go to a second off site place to get unloaded and now I have to go back to Campbell's, check in again and then wait for them to load my trailer.

When I was on Hometime about a week ago I wanted to upgrade my phone to something with a larger screen and possibly get a laptop further down the line.

I went to a few cellular stores in my area to do some shopping. I only had a small cheap prepaid phone with Verizon. Sprint has some cool things, but I heard from several other truckers that Verizon is definitely the way to go as far as coverage. I already had Verizon anyway.

So I walked into the third Verizon dealer store and saw this 12 1/2 inch iPad Pro. I pretty much instantly knew that I was going to buy this one. I fell out of the technology scene and was not up-to-date on what new devices were out there. So I didn't even know that this thing existed until I saw it when I walked in the store. I got to play with it in the store, so that furthered my excitement to buy one!

The lady helping me out said she had to run my credit to see what devices I would qualify for on a monthly plan. To be honest my credit is really crappy so I was not looking forward to the results. But when she came back she told me that I pretty much qualified for anything in the store that I wanted, I was very surprised and asked her if that is really based on my credit. She was like yup I'm sure so I was surprised and happy about that!

When I walked in the door I had an LG Transpyre prepaid phone with one gig of high-speed data unlimited talk and unlimited text. That was $53.50 a month including taxes. I was paying $20 per extra 3 GB of data as I needed it. I was doing that about 3-4 times a month. So I was actually paying about $115-$135 a month to browse the web on my tiny phone.

So here is what I'm paying now:

Please note I'm only supplying exact bill details so people who are interested in the future can know what to expect if you want to upgrade or come over to Verizon. I think this is a "good cellular plan for truck drivers":

    New iPad Pro monthly charges:
    -Line access: $10
    -Insurance: $9
-Monthly payment to purchase device: $45.22

    Smart phone monthly charges:
    -Line access: $20
(I kept my prepaid phone, so I don't have to pay for anything else since I own this device already)

16 GB LTE data with unlimited talk & text:
    -$90 ($82.80 with Magnum 8% employee discount)

Total monthly payment: $167.02 (actually $171.40 after admin, 911 access, and other small fees)

I ended up paying $255.58 in store, for an awesome Otterbox case with a screen protector and a pair of extra long charging cables. One for the standard 120v outlet and one car charger. I know there were some fees and taxes in there too but unfortunately I don't have my receipt for the breakdown on that. My prepaid balance transferred over as well, so that applied to my first bill.

First bill will be +$20 for line activation fee ($191.40).

Is it worth it? So far, yes! I get the bigger screen I wanted along with a faster LTE connection than the 3G I have on my prepaid phone. I kept my same phone and I don't have to buy a laptop now. I don't pay for internet back home because I room with my brother and I don't pay for half of the internet bill while I'm not there. So I'm only paying for Internet (data) once. So far I haven't stopped anywhere that my iPad hasn't had full LTE service. I'm very happy with what I have now.

So if anyone is looking for realistic and accurate cellular plan details, those are my exact numbers! Now if only I could get Verizon to pay me for speaking highly about them! Lol

Matt hooked me up with a Ft Worth TX to Hebron KY. Deadhead from San Antonio. Not too bad in my eyes. Then again as long as I'm moving I'm content.

I was @ Coca Cola for almost 5 hours last week. They were unusually slow for some reason.

What a place to put a Walmart dc. 45 miles of switch back 2 lane roads up over mountains that I could only pull in 5th gear and only had 37k lbs on. On good note got the last spot in a mom and pop truck stop a half mile from delivery. Drove 1200 miles in the last 31 hours.

Stopped here for the night. Night watchman hits you as soon as you park. Asks how long you are staying and asks to pay inside. Inside is nice! Subway & a little in house place that sells chesterfield chicken. They have a huge selection from things for your truck, snacks, drinks & beer. Showers are $15 but I'm not getting one. Very nice place but it's in the heart of the construction area. It's not in my gps so I had to enter the address manually. Concrete parking area and @ 1800 there's probably 8 trucks here. Plenty of parking still. Plus I'm 3 miles away from shipper.
