Why do people who never have experience before operating buy these expensive lease purchase deals or finance a brand new truck? Why not buy a cheap used truck in cash for ~$25K to see if you're actually cut out for it or not? Worse case scenario you sell the truck and go back to being company.

It's an easy option, like rent to own. You can have it now.

Where you gonna go with a 25k truck? The shop?

Maybe to a SHOP but you can get decent trucks for 25k. Then you can stay at home as much as you want with no truck payment:)

The rest of the bills still have to be paid. There are pros and cons to leasing your rolling office space. And the Quality deal is NOT a $60k buyout. Just sayin.

What are some average years, mileage, models, etc. I should be looking for in that price range? I understand for flatbedding, you don't want a huge truck. I was looking at 2006-2009 models with ~750K miles at $25-$30k.

Or would I be better off putting that $25K down on a $50K truck and have a ~$500/month payment?

Depends on what YOU want. I want an older truck as its my first truck buying and i didn't wanna deal with DEF. If it was me i would stay aaway from 09 trucks. They have DEF and first full year so they are buggy. The newer trucks i hear they arnt as a BAD but don't idle you ruin the def system by doing that.
