When you guys talk about $2+ loads and stuff, is that before or after Mercer's cut? And how often do you see them? According to DAT, the average flatbed rate is $1.89 per mile. After Mercer's 26%, that's $~1.40

 

2+ a mile is common depending on area and what we see on our load info is after Mercer cut

 

Common in the northeast/mid atlantic?

 

Not sure what the avg rate is now but when I started the recruiter quoted me 1.76 a mile on all miles to the truck company wide

 

Does that factor in deadhead miles or only paid load miles? $1.76 HUB miles would be more than I'd need, but if that was before I factored in deadhead costs, it doesn't sound worth it.

 

That's company wide DH and loaded miles a recruiter will give you this info and won't lie

 

Keep in mind that's avg a lot of drivers make more and a lot make less depending where and how they run also that quot is from 2014

 

I'm reading this thread from the beginning and it seems skateboard man has Mercer all figured out. Is he still around?

After re-reading most of this thread I found some of you guys used to run your own authority and talk about things at Mercer being a bit of a change. What would you say was the most challenging obstacle or habit to overcome?
