First of all the rule has always been log it as you do it their form FMCSA instructed Qualcomm to change the programming to where the logs would log it as you do it... People that has been doing it the right way longer than Qualcomm... There has not been no rule change just a change in the programming to what the rules are and for those that just cannot seem to get it... Well then oh well

395.2 definition: Driving time means all time spent at the driving controls of a commercial motor vehicle in operation.
Elogs log to the.minute, therefore each minute must be recorded. Searching encased site on my phone is a challenge so I can't find their bulletin from last November but I'll look later.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -

The amount of distance it takes to trigger drive time. It was shorten and maverick was informing the drivers to be careful because it can lead of a violation. It sounded like maverick didn't like the change but was force apon them and us.
As for split, I done it at schneider and nothing happen -
OK got it. Yeah I ran into that a while back. Went On Duty to pull off dock close doors slide tandems roll to the out gate, it all took 17 minutes. Rolled down the little alley way to the main stop sign and got on the public road not 5 or so miles to the washout place and the elog showed the whole time as drive time.
So what I have to do now is reach over and change it to Drive time to lock in the previous On Duty time.
Another time 27 minutes into my 30 minute break I start rolling out to the big road, it showed 31 minutes as i'm grabbing gears up the onramp, and 5 some odd hours available. Soon as I got up to speed it reverted back to 1:09 available or something.Had to pull over real quick and change it back to Off Duty with traffic whizzing by and wait for the magic 30 minutes then change it to Drive time to lock it in. Thank goodness too because that 4 minutes shy of a 30 minute break put me at severe risk of falling asleep spontaneously.TennMan Thanks this. -
Yeah basically when you get ready to pull out of the customer's gate put yourself on drive line then and then it will not take into consideration all that Pryor moving across the customer's property

Sni reads threads so my guess is eventually all this advice on how to operate the elogs will then be used to dictate further change.
I mean if a driver has found a way to benefit from elogs and the rule stated the change was necessary to log ALL drive time I foresee more qualcomm changes coming.sealevel, scottied67 and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -
I asked FMCSA point blank about this. They said that if you are on private property that should not show as drive time. Only while on public roads. Example, if you have to drive 2 miles from one side of a customer building to the other side of same said building, should not be considered drive time. Heck, I've lost 20 minutes as drive time, just looking for an empty at an OC!!!

You know SNI will tell everyone that it was mandated and some will always believe them. Even though it's not every qualcomm that changed.
Oh well I've learned to adjust.sealevel and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
QC had a memo posted about it last year. I just can't find it.
