Flatbed companies that take students

Just my inexperienced pennies jingling around.... but don't limit yourself to the large companies. I hired in with a local fleet of about 100 out of school recently. I'm doing local pickup/deliveries with a trainer teaching me load securement until I'm comfortable to run solo for regional, longer hauls and/or oversized.

I'm working long days, but I'm home every night and weekends until I fly solo. Plenty of possibilities. Good luck

You do know that they hunt tigers by beating the bushes.

 

I'm not one to give up but it's basically a lost cause trying to tell people what you've said.

1. Most people are looking for easy.
2. They are afraid to get off the internet to find a job.
3. The usual suspects show up and try to get them to start at the bottom.

Trying to get him on glass

 

You are in the area for glass or flatbed in general. I know maverick does have regional run with flatbed if you want more hometime. As for glass, it's 2 weeks out = 2 days, sometimes you get more days at home or get sent home early depending on freight.

You might have to do a refresher and/or go with a trainer, they say the minimum is like 3 weeks then off you go.

 

Maverick usually has weekends home in their flatbed division. Won't have weekends home in their glass or reefer division.
McElroy has weekends home because the owner is Seventh Day Adventist.

 

Yeah get into the glass division with them.
