Awww. Well, I guess it's for the best. Dont want to run into a tough talking Swift driver full of liquid courage.

Google maps is your friend. Carlisle to Albert Lea you can definitely skip Chicago. Unless you're governed at 70+ and don't care about tolls. In which case, just roll through there since the turnpike will be way faster than dealing with the mess 70 can be around western Pa.

As far as through Iowa, I've done this exact drive and it's easy. 55+ speed limits everywhere and almost no traffic.

LeRoy, IL, I-74, exit 149, opposite side of interstate from Love's. Independent truck stop, large lot. They have a restaurant called Woody's. It's very good. I recommend the gyro platter and don't let them forget the tzatziki sauce.

    TripleSix Thanks this.

Peoria has a Walmart with a lowes next to it that allows overnight parking and has a huge selection of places nearby.

You should note that the cedar rapids bridge flooded :-/
    Should be good now though.

If you go around on 355 its not a big deal for chicago. Foot to the floor cops have no place to do a u'ey.

Go ahead flash your lights buddy. XD

I usually just go thru chicago at night. If I'm all the way at carlisle, just wake up earlier and earlier and it would be a breeze. Unless u want to avoid tolls

Looks like I'm going to Iowa 80.

Scratch that off the truck driver bucket list.

Even with 900 spots, what are the chances of getting parking around midnight?
