I don't really think there is a "sure thing" with new trucks any more. Everyone seems to have varying experiences with all motors and trucks.
Dogals right foot and SL3406 Thank this. -
The biggest prob in north america is
that the drivers are not propper trained on the new trucks.
The diff between a trained and a untrained driver in a volvo d13 with ishift is easy 2 to 3 mpg on the same truck.Dogals right foot Thanks this. -
Why would you buy a Volvo with a Cummins? Would you buy a Ford with a Chevy engine, or a Ram with a Ford engine? If you buy Volvo, get a Volvo transmission, preferably with the I-Shift transmission. It is all married together and is almost problem free. The same with Freightliner and Western Star, as they have Detroit engines, transmissions and rear ends. Going with an outsider engine doesn't make good sense these days.

Well if you buy a Ford with a diesel you get an International engine.
-
Do you have the XE package with 2.64 rears?
-
Yes I do have the XE package..2.64 rears.
Makes a big difference..if I could manage to run 62 mph I'd get better fuel economy.
Still I do well enough.BoostedTeg Thanks this.
