Um usually. But some states are more aggressive in reporting it.
I don't see my BS meter going off here. But what I wonder about, is the court that insisted he show up rather than just paying the fine. Sounds to me like it may be one of the old JP courts, that is more about shake down, than "justice."

That does seem odd doesn't it?Normally if you plead not guilty then you go in front of a judge.Otherwise if you don't pay the fine by the date on the ticket there will be an order for your arrest issued.Clerk of court's won't make any deals unless it's a payment plan. They will accept payment over the phone.I know Ohio does.I mean think about it,you get a fine say 200 miles from where you live, who's going to wanna go to court not me,ill just pay it.You must pay the fine before or on the date that's on the ticket.
-
Right. There are a few jurisdictions where you can fight it by mail. The last county I worked for was one of those. But usually you have to appear to fight it. Then they schedule a trial and you have to appear again for that...
My thinking about it being a justice of the peace court, is because of the way some of them would shake you down. ie; How much money you got on you, son? OK, that's how much your fine is.
Don't know how many states still allow this, but it used to be quite prevalent in some southern states.
@Exrayman4000; what I failed to remember, when I replied to your post, is that while infractions don't have to appear, misdemeanors usually do. But if he got a misdemeanor speeding ticket, he had to have been really hauling arse.EzekelRAGE and pattyj Thank this. -
Also the reason it's not showing on the MVR is it's an open case. Even if you were to pay the fine and all penalties today, it's very likely that today will be the date on your MVR, and it will stay on for the next 3 years from today. Like everyone is saying call the court and see what the fines are and either pay them or call a local traffic lawyer and hire him to deal with it. Google will help find one.

Hmm, I wonder if I can try and fight the ticket. It wasn't a car that caught me speeding, it was a helicopter, who then radioed the cop/state trooper. The cop that pulled me over said he would just let me go, but the heli already picked me up though. I know I will still be in trouble for the FTA.

I think people are confusing states that sometimes report convictions to a drivers home state with this. Failure to appear in almost all US state courts will result in bench warrants being issued then at some point the license being suspended. My BS meter is going off to the fact the OP failed to appear then 3 years later says a company said his license is clear. Either this company uses bozo the clown to do background checks or the OP is applying bull.

Just because you and your "bs meter" is getting old.

What would be the purpose of me making this up? Also it wasn't the company that sent it. It was the department of finance for AR. That is why I was wondering if the report was just for AR.
Also got my license renewed in august for my home state and there was no problem. -
Depends on the state if they forward the information to the original licensing state or not. Some Courts will issue a warrant, but they will only extradite from an adjoining state, or will only extradite if within xxx miles of the Magistrate. If that is the case it may not show up on your DMV as Arkansas will only accept records, or suspend licenses if the agency will come and get you. While it may not show up on your DMV, a background check it most likely will, then the company has a choice, avoid sending you to certain states, within xxx miles, or not hire you.

The OP is not being fully truthful. Thank about it. Failure to appear WILL get your DL. Number one there is no state in the lower 48 that won't accept a mailed fine. Now there are some states that will NOT let you pay by mail for more serious charges. However if OP were charged with one of these and did not appear you can be guaranteed a bench warrant was issued AND OPs home state notified. Not sure what game OP is playing but I'm not buying it as presented. Either OP is spreading bull or is leaving something out.
-
Only part I left out was it being a helicopter that clocked me and not an officer.
They didn't want the mail in because I was goin ~ 20 over and wanted me in court. That was already mentioned in the thread which is why I didnt bring it up.
Also how am I spreading bull? I'm legit wondering why it didn't show up.
