bad drive tires?

This driver does not suck in the snow. We always had a new set put on around first ice. Shop falls over themselves to put the best on knowing they will get a year out of us team.

 

A company driver will most always lose this kind of battle. A driver needs to pick his battles when it comes to tires. If their slick don't operate the truck and make sure safety see's the photo's. I have emailed photo's of tires many times to safety. My earlier comment about you the driver being the final authority is still good. Just be ready to handle the fall out if you refuse to drive, it might cost you your job.

Actually, you would be legal in both cases. You only need one tire per set of duels to be at or above 2/32. As long as there is not visible steel or rag showing on the other... Drive on.

 

There is legal, then there is smart. Based on the photos, those tires are legal. Now if you were told to take a trip up the smasher in mid winter with drive tires like that, I'd say you'd be dumb to try it.

 

With those tires, it's time to say goodbye. Either to the tires or the boss.

 

I agree. These look like trailer tires. Putting trailer tires on drives is not a good idea. The drive tires have specific tread design to keep power to the pavement, disperse water, traction stopping etc. etc. Drive tires have a totally different make up.

Sounds like the company is operating on the cheap or has money issues. The first thing I would do if I was looking at a company is go look at a few trucks. If I saw that on their trucks I am done. Be polite Thank then for their time and leave. Nuff said.

I say the company is going on the cheap. Really cheap. and stupid.

 

Yup. Time to bail and go else where. If you are a good driver you can get top dollar elsewhere.
