Here's my timeline from google maps. Kinda interesting to see where i been. There's some spots missing like around Maine, but i think if i stayed overnight it save in my timeline? idk running flabed sometimes we get unloaded really quick so it doesn't have time to save Capture_Ink_LI.jpg

My opinion only... and not that I have anything to hide. But I find it troublesome that place is like Google and such track, monitor and saves data your whereabouts, your current location, what you have searched on the internet, as far as a smartphone all these apps needing all these permissions everything from your contact list, to your microphone. All under the misconception of of convenience. I have most of that stuff turned off. And check my settings periodically. To see that they have not been changed. And who knows what's to say that they still aren't somehow saving all this information. Not fear mongering what makes you wonder what is the real reason for it and whether or not Google is in cahoots with the government tracking your every move. And what for ?Supposably even the new TVs have cameras in them now. LOL.... I wonder if the toilet paper we use nowadays might not have microscopic microchips that we are are implanting in ourselves every time we Wipe

If I ever get around to putting my CDL to use, that is the reason. I know what the pay is like starting out but I'd do it for 2-3 years just to see all of Can/US.

I've not messed with it but I'm using iPhone. I can't determine what triggers a location save. It would be nice if you could "animate" your route history by turning on the "dots" on a map every 1/4 second, in the order they occurred

Most all cell phones "track and push" location and speed history to one degree or another from ALL users, regardless of carrier. How do you think modern traffic status updates (across all major routes) are created? How do you think 911 calls are tracked and the location sent to responding units? How do you think autonomous technology and GPS routing engines determines optimal routing in real-time?

It's not going away. And to the extent you can, you can turn off some levels of push updates. All you can do is use a "dumb phone", but even they are not completely "off the grid"

Haven't you watched NCIS and Criminal Minds?

You are on the internet currently, if the g men want to know, they already know. You would have to virtually disappear to become untrackable.

Credit cards, debit cards, street cameras, Cell pings, guard shacks, truck stops. Trust me, they know where you are if you have your location on or not.

Here's a test I did a while ago on my android. Drive from Reading, PA to Newark, Nj. I turned my location off on my phone before leaving the yard in PA, I went and dropped my delivery, turned and was headed back to Reading. Now my location has been off on my phone, I got to Hellertown on 78, pulled off to check traffic at 78/100. Well I turned my location on and the phone repositioned the blue dot on Google maps from the ramp on 78 all the way back to the customers lot in Newark.

Tell me again that I have complete control. Because my phone never knew where I dropped.

btw the only reason why chicago is dense because i live in the chicagoland so it counts my travel to walmart, gas station etc etc. Trust me, i hate delivering into Chicago like most of you.

As for privacy and being track, most of you here been on that interstate i been to. Hell we might had pass by each other. Those dots are truck stops like pilot, loves and customer i been to. Nothing personal like my house or parents house.

I check my timeline today and it was pretty accurate of where i been to. Save the time i visit my truck(had to clean it and shoved the snow from the flatbed...but its still snowing so fml) to walmart, to the gas station i fill up, but it didnt save the actually gas station just saw i drove in it, then to my house. My timeline is not public nor is yours, so dont think your wife or girlfriend can find it lol unless they know your google account.
