True, you could only deduct or write off a vehicle (and costs to operate it) who's primarily purpose is business related. I have a 2015 3/4 ton pickup that is a write off, but it's primary mission in life is stuff for the business. Parts runs, picking up oil drums, snow plowing 2 miles of rural road, 900' of driveway, and parking area so that I can get the big truck to the house in the winter, etc. It also is used to maintain/grade the drive and parking area. It is not used for joy riding around.
But the same pickup can be used for business travel to do something related to the business. Like pulling a RV to go to some place like MATS or Walcott trucker jamboree. Or as I did about a year and a half ago, a vacation trip that included a business meeting at my oil supplier home office in St. Louis.mc8541ss Thanks this. -
Yeah I think the challenge would be convincing the IRS that it was a business purchase and not a toy for personal use.

It is not a work requirement nor is it needed. -
My opinion is yes, register it in your company name & Insurance and use it to find new customers in that area. or even restocking the company's break room, Keep records of who you contacted & Miles

IRS Topic 510 - Business Use of Car
If you use your car in your job or business and you use it only for that purpose, you may deduct its entire cost of operation (subject to limits discussed later). However, if you use the car for both business and personal purposes, you may deduct only the cost of its business use.
