I think you would have to get with Kevin on that..I started in mid-April of last year and at that time the insurance kicked in after the 60 day probation period.

Well....was on my was to to deliver near Seattle tomorrow morning, got part way up snowy-qualmie pass and attempted my first ever chain-up...it did not go well. Found only two of the chains that were supplied to my truck were and good, the rest either had links rusted together I couldn't get them free no matter how much beating I could do on them, or the adjusting plates and tightening cams were so bent I couldn't get them to hook up or hold the cam links properly to avoid tire & equipment damage. Called the after hours guy and was told to find a safe place to park and wait for things to clear up.. basically had to turn around and the nearest place that had a space left was in Ellensburg....dispatch ain't gonna be happy....

You're lucky you found a reasonable place to park. I went through all my chains when I was assigned my truck and they all looked good and I bungied them up the best I could last spring and dropped them back into that stupid "box" and haven't looked at them recently. I may go through tomorrow morning as I'll likely be waiting 4 or 5 hours for my noon load appointment in Texas.
I really wish all the Holland trucks had chain hangers, but the 14's and 15's all have boxes and all the time riding in there, they tend to meld together somehow especially when they are thrown back in there with salt and road grime, and never able to be rinsed off from time to time. -
I'm wishing I went more thoroughly through mine when I first got my truck, it was supposed to have been looked at while I was in the yard last week but for some unkowm reason I found my truck's number erased off the incoming board, when the evening shift started, I found later none of the supplies or fuel filter had been checked, and at that time I was pretty much optimistic about the delivery..the one big storm had passed through and the rest of the forecasts didn't look too bad...I took a quick peak at the chain rack behind the rhs side skirt, the two good brand new chains were towards the outside and at first glance the rest of them didn't look too bad....or so I thought. Unfortunately the weather really took a turn for the worst, I slogged through ND and Montana, shut down in Missoula seeing the next couple of passes were clear and forecasts were just for "snow showers". Then as morning approached they had chain law up for the two passes getting through Idaho, but those cleared to just before I went through. I got just past the first snoqualmie scale with a bunch of other drivers to attempt my chain-up..the two good chains I was able to throw on first, but as I tried to untangle the rest of the rusted junk ones and found all the defects, I decided to call the after hour line. No way was I going to try going up that mess with just two chains. Last I heard its supposed to get up to 18 inches of snow through there tonite alone...not good.

I don't know how experienced you are throwing chains and driving in the snow through passes so forgive me if you feel like I'm insulting your intelligence because that's not what I'm trying to do but I use to drive through the passes in Montana and Snoqualmie quite a bit and I always just chained my outside drives and threw a drag chain on the trailer and I was grossing around 78 or 79,000 going west and around 50,000 coming back east and never had a problem, regardless of the snow depth. But then again, I was probably just smart enough to be dangerous.

Nope...that failed attempt last night was my first time ever doing a chain-up...,fortunately by the time my 10 hour break was up this morning they dropped the chain law so I was able to fight my way through there this morning...it was still a mess but it was improving a bit.
