Some do/did. Coming through Virginia back in the 90's with a 1984 at64f autocar, nice sunny day and was just lost in my thoughts I guess. Va State trooper flashed his disco lights as he past in the opposite direction. Looked down and realized I was doing 5 over, I picked up my mic, Thank you Sir just lost in my thoughts.... he responded, no problem just hold it down.

Arkansas Highway Patrol, monitor 19 almost constantly. I have been an occupant in a grey striped Tahoe many times listening to what drivers have to say about me being on the portables on a private parking lot

Had a trooper "tailgating" me once about 3am near Reno ,Nevada.Thought he was going to light me up.Instead he gets on the CB."Kick it in the a.. trucker, there"s nobody out here but me and you!" Kinda felt weird,an officer giving me the ok to speed.

Along the same lines... I know of one county in WI where the plow guys use CBs to talk to each other. When I was running mail over there and would catch them I'd key up and ask if I could pass and they'd say yes or wait for a minute or two for a wide spot. Next county over, no response, and they did a crappy job too.

Years back they all did, now likely hit & miss....This thread reminds me of an old song I haven't heard in years, not exactly sure how it went, but something about a CB savage that gets in the rocking chair somehow, and then nabs a bunch of hands for speeding....Anyone remember that?...

20 years ago I got pulled over in Oklahoma for a roadside inspection. The officer told me on the radio exactly where he wanted me to stop on that skinny 2-lane with no shoulder.

I've also sat in a Tahoe in Texas and listened to other drivers talk about me and what kind of outlaw antics must have gotten me pulled over. Most of them I had just recently passed. Cop just grinned, and so did I. No ticket for me.....
