Pete, when mine was replaced the housing the water pump bolts to was removed with the pump still bolted on. Its sealed to the block with o-rings and should be easier to unbolt than the pump alone.

Cj, just a question. what kind of truck you running?
I only ask cause I have been pulling van with my headboard installed for 5 - 6 months with out an issue. also did some ups for a week and a half. No problems with clearance.
Please disregard that question. I failed to consider a larger sleeper combined with a large multiple bay box. I can see where that would create clearance issues.
But that also poses another question, isn't the distance from the front of the trailer to the king pin the same on all trailers? Except for those that have movable king pins?Last edited: Dec 21, 2016

hmm might try that. Other wise the fan has to come off and the Balancers...Which is gonna suck.

Use a 6 sided box wrench or socket . It will contact more flat area of the bolt than a 12 sided. Or vise grips. Did you try heating and cooling it and heating it?

After 10 hours of trying to upload here it is.. The bottom bolt is whats giving me problems. As you can see not much room for work lol

No. The king pin setting is just one of hundreds of things you audit when ordering new. 30 inch is common for the typical short wheel base tandem axle fleet specced otr sleeper truck that will only pull a van. Same goes for trucks with the fifth wheel placement. There are so many variables at euro that can effect this that you could put two new trucks, same model bought at the same dealer and one can pull a pull a container chairs with no problem, the other will twist his frame and break crossmembers on the first turn.

Yes and no. I made the switch 2 or 3 weeks before orientation. I was going to go van, you guys convinced me otherwise. Thank you allCJndaTruck Thanks this.

He's headed into Mercertown NOW to switch. He may have to DH home for Christmas, but that's something we already took into account.

I have a western star. My problems were many. I ordered the 240 inch WB when I should have ordered the 250. When they installed my APU they ran the lines up from the unit directly over my frame causing me to have my enclosed rack about 6 inches further back. And most of all my trailers kingpin is about 18" back vrs a typical 36" on a 53' van. So all told I had issues with just my trailer once I turned it into a conestoga.

Well.. The balancer is off.. Ordered some new bolts..
