If you're a real go getter and you have a competent dispatcher you communicate with, you can do well here. Did 3003 miles last week, 2599 the previous, 2718 the next previous. And yes, I do go home every weekend. They're pretty lassiez faire about taking time off.

That's 100% correct. If you get a good dispatcher you can do well at cargo. As far as starting pay for new drivers you're not going anywhere else making $0.40 per mile straight out of training. If you get a bad dispatcher your life will really suck. And so will your paycheck. But they will micromanage the hell out of you with all the cameras and safety crap.

There's a few companies around that start new drivers at .40 cpm. One off the top of my head is Jim Palmer Trucking which pays .40 cpm + .05 cpm fuel bonus which = .45 cpm

Maybe he just wants to grab a beer with you. Can't just jump to conclusions like that! Na but all jokes aside, glad to hear you're moving on, sounds like beacon wasn't a good fit for you. Hope the next job is. Where are you considering working at now?

Hello all. Great thread. Hopefully it will keep going strong with Smurf’s departure. Anyway, I’m getting back into driving when my current contract expires. I just don’t enjoy what I’m doing and a bunch of us were made part time at the end of 2016, lost benefits etc. CT is on my short list of companies and I was wondering what you all think of their health insurance? I know it’s Blue Cross Blue Shield but how’s the coverage, costs, etc. It’s just my wife and I that would be on the plan. Thanks!!
