LOL...yeah, i will. He stuck out in Arkansas (Clinton Country) waiting on a load that was supposed to be ready today. I told him to "get out the chains while you're out there!"

It's all in the timing and your luck. I ran good and hard all winter last season going in and out of the northwest almost exclusively back to back between there and the midwest or northeast and back, for a month and a half after Jan 1, and every 2-4 weeks otherwise, and never chained all season. However I did make my own luck on more then a few occasions by pushing hard or holding back as a system was prog'd to affect the route, going and/or returning

But he'll certainly need to carry sufficient chains, whether he intends to ever use them, or not.

    TripleSix and tman78 Thank this.

You get your chains organized. Usually minimum chain is required. I can hang the 4 chains in less than 30 min. if you have to use the three rail chains, that takes longer.

And if you have to throw on super single chains you had better have eaten your Wheaties....lol...dang those things are heavy...I like parking, popcorn, a movie n turn the bunk heater up in those times as an alternative....just go tap the savings account a little

Really? That's the one thing I like about super singles, the nice easy chains that are so much lighter than three rails....

speaking of chains... I am carrying Autosocks, but haven't used them yet. Has anyone used them? I might start a thread just for that if I can't find one.
