A pair of wire cutters will silence that chime soon enough. SNIP.
Lord knows Ive sinned with a pair of wire cutters.... I get enraged when filled with sounds of nanny truck telling me to do this, dont do that, what are you doing there? etc.

Had a Freightliner that kept chiming even if the seltbelt was on. There was a wire next to the base of the belt and I unplug it. Work.

Teething or anxious?
I had a dog with separation anxiety... She was a terror. Chewed shades, the a/c cord, window sills, dug a hole thru the bottom of the couch, knock over and strew the garbage... Ugh... monster. Couldn't leave her alone for 10 minutes. But boy, was she glad when you came back so she could show you what she'd done. -
If his Volvo is like the one I drove, cutting or unplugging the wire will only make it chime constantly. Unplug, bend paper clip into a horseshoe, and insert into plug. It fixed mine.Truckermania Thanks this.

Volvo can turn the seatbelt chime off in the ecm, or you can have the defective part replaced.

Everything about this Volvo is retarded. They had to find a way to make everything difficult. Nothing in owners manual. Had to watch you tube videos to figure out where the damd fuses were at. No fuses associated with seatbelt I could find. Don't have a paperclip. Cut the damd thing and twist them together. They can figure it out if they ever want the stupid chime back on. I'm done with this pos.

This happened to me after my truck as out of warranty. The sensor in the seatbelt buckle was/is bad. Have to buy a whole new seatbelt assembly. I cut the wires and twisted them together with a wire nut. Same principle as the paper clip.
windsmith Thanks this.
