Drive stupid and you're gonna get tore up. Why should parking be any different? Life is hard and harder when you're stupid.

I will say Trucker's Path is only as good as the input from other drivers. I used it on the fly to find a parking spot at the Flying J just west of Abilene, the app showed "some spots" available.

I pull in and all but one fuel lane was blocked, an oversize was blocking all but enough room to squeeze between the scales and the fuel pumps, and all I could see was a wall of parked trucks in front of the fuel islands and two trucks circling. Truckers were making parking spots at the curbs.

    Bad, right?

As luck would have it right in front of the open fuel lane was an open spot. I pulled straight into it and discovered the entire front row is pull through! I parked and looked at AT LEAST FORTY OPEN PARKING SPOTS, AN ENTIRE ROW IN THE BACK HAD NOBODY.

WTF are truckers thinking, do you all get anxiety bypassing a difficult spot in front so you don't drive to the back and have the pick of the litter? Are you seriously so overworked physically you can't walk 100 yards to the store?

    I don't get it.

    Here's my take on it.

You don't block the route in or out of the lot (leaving enough room for someone to get by if they're careful doesn't count as blocking, god forbid they actually have to pay attention while driving), you don't park where people won't be able to pull out because of you.

Other than that, if someone pulls out later and the spot is blocked because of you now, tough luck for the next guy. They should know between 21-05 the lot is going to be a mess, should have trip planned better and gotten there earlier or later, or picked a place to park that wasn't a major truck stop in a busy area.
