Are we allowed to skip fuel stops

    Usually I get fuel at the truck stop they tell me, but sometimes, depending on the city Im in and if the Truck stop is small and cramped I will skip it and get fuel somewhere else. Or if it is out of route. I would then just ask them if i can be authorized for fuel at Loves in such and such Mississippi etc..

    usally they do it

    BUt when I asked this morning, i got a swift messaage back asking me what happened to my originally fuel route and i told them why(the truck stop was backed up into the street) its a small one in major city.

    Idk why they chose to get upset

    Now we going back n forth. The person on the Qualcomm is telling me that's not a reason to skip a fuel stop n asking me how far I am from the original one

    Varries from company to company who use a fuel optimization program [that costs money to subscribe to]. Missing them regularly will be a good excuse for them to void any potential bonuses. But where I used to work, they used that program and the same stops that our system preferred, every other carrier that had the same system and chose the same stops for the same reasons. As such, many of the stops were regularly backed up with a bunch of trucks, costing as much as 20 minute waits before getting to pumps, all trying to save 2 cents a gallon.
