Kept the sunny side up and in one piece. That is a WELL DISCIPLINED FedEx driver.
Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
I'm with you on this one, drove these things for years in worse conditions and never wrapped one up. Never.
Mom said - brakes were frozen. A good driver knows to keep them dry by light application as often as possible in wet/cold combo conditions.
CNN story said "After losing it, he broke his air lines"
So he gets to be the star of his own show while dozens of other drivers wait while California tax resources are wasted getting him to where he should have been in the first place - off the road.
And then gets FaceCrack applause . . .haycarter, styro and Studebaker Hawk Thank this. -
If he was able to do that without slicking his knickers, I would say he's definitely a candidate for the "Golden Shorts Award".
SidewaysBentHalo and Lepton1 Thank this. -
It was pretty slick up there yesterday... it was my first time chaining up and it was easy to see why they were needed. One big problem that annoyed me was the idiots in the yuppie suv's and souped up 4x4s that just couldn't wait to squeeze between me and the mega-snowblower that were still trying to clear the tons of snow that fell up there.carramrod32 and Studebaker Hawk Thank this.

I view that particular driving as a very capital job well done considering the possibilities on that mountain on ice.
I only want to hear the yelling that must have happened once the home shop realized how much those tires must have been torn up. I bet they took it out of his pay.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I love all these "I never would have wrapped it up in the first place" comments. Everyone can make a mistake. Learning to fly, I was always told it's not so much the mistake you make but how well you can recover. Because we all make mistakes. How many people gonna gonna spin out in a truck on accident, then slide down the other side with the b trailer sideways, on purpose? I say job well done.
JReding, Big Don, Socal Xpress and 1 other person Thank this. -
Here is my concern with the second post "about what happened". There are too many trolls out there that create a new spin on what has been declared. They want / often do, make it sound first hand. Yet this is how fake news is generated. We all know about the fake news stories. They seem really plausible and will often detract from the reality because some one creates a sympathy story to get them "liked".
It is something that the millenials will have to deal with. While many of us whom have been there and can sympathize with what happened. If it smells too plausible can often be realized as not to be taken as fact. -
I will admit the driver did a good job considering he was only going 10-20 mph. He had a anchor on the back. No way to steer it with the brakes locked up. The driver according to the facebook police post said we would pull the truck to a safe spot where he wouldnt tie up the road. If you view the troopers page you will find many stories of the troopers helping others in that area.

This driver deserves the presidential medal of freedom
