Self unlocking? I haven't on mine but that's a scary thought though.
-
I assume these use a key-fob remote? Have you ever used your remote to try and unlock other company trucks in the yard?
Does it do this only when you're out of the truck? In the truck on break? Running down the road? -
I know the Volvo I am driving, and this most recent batch has manual door locks(non-power), that can only lock from inside or outside when the door is closed. My last company had Volvo 630's which had similar door locks that would freeze up sometimes.
MrLincoln Thanks this. -
The worst part is, no, they do not have power locks. I have just noticed that sometimes I will glance over at the passenger door and it will be unlocked. I never unlock the passenger door. It has happened several times. I have been very vigilante lately about checking them since I noticed this. as far as the company trucks go, they are all keyed alike. If you have a freightliner, your key will open any frieghtliner in our fleet. Same goes for the volvos. I have both keys just in case someone gets locked out of their truck. They have them that way because of swaps. When I went on vacation someone had to swap with me and deliver my load so they were able to do it without me having to leave them a key.

I think the build quality of this Volvo is starting to let me down. Already had to tight all the bolts for the latches and pins for the cabinets & drawers. Nothing like making and easy left turn and having the drawer containing my CPAP case fly out and crash on the floor. Just picked up a nice run going to CA.....and the stereo decides to blow an amp fuse. So basically now I only have the two upper rear speakers for any sound output to compete with truck/road noise. Originally was told to try going to a TA for that but I don't know if I can trust TA for fixing audio problems. Going to try and get this thing into a Volvo dealer. Not a good thing when the truck is only a few months old and already having computer/electrical gremlins.
Between the constant headaches with dispatch on screwed up appointments (either given wrong appointment times, no appointment set and I don't find out until I get to the customer, or scheduling a delivery a day early then expecting me to show up early, only to be told "don't come in till your appointment"), shippers who can't figure out how to legally load a trailer, losing what would've been a great 3200 mile, medium weight "dream run" due to idiot dock workers who couldn't figure out how to fit the load on the trailer, the weather related hassles, ill be lucky if I manage to hang onto my sanity. GAHHHHHHH!!! -
Nobody is making a really great build quality truck anymore. But considering the beating these trucks take day in and day out, and getting worse by the month, it's a wonder they don't literally fall to pieces. My 2015 Freightliner has held up pretty good in terms of no squeaks, rattles, stuff falling off, etc (knock on wood)
Here at Holland, I came off some long-overdue hometime recently and first two loads I've gotten (Fort Worth>Manassas and Allentown>Minnesota 3 drops) have been only half full and under 28K each. Not seen such a load in over 8 months, now get 2 in a row. ... StrangeMike777 Thanks this. -

Question:If company terminates you for being sick, can you apply again,or just move on.

Some companies have a policy to only allow rehire [of qualified employees] after a period of time has elapsed, often 6 months.
