I've got 18months experience. I'm home every weekend for at least a 34 sometimes it's 48hrs, but never less than 34. I only run Iowa, IL, IN, OH, MI, KY, TN, and GA. Company paid insurance and I've got vision, dental, accident, cancer, and extra life insurance that totals $20 a week. I'm pre-planned every load, and sometimes 2 days ahead. A lot of drop n hooks and most live loads are at weekly customers so as soon as I bump dock they are dropping dock plate. I'm yet to be told "no load available " and my dispatch leaves me alone. I'm guaranteed minimum $1000 a week gross, and in the 3.5 months I've been here I'm yet to have to rely on that guaranteed minimum. 3000-3500 is where I've been just about every week. My only "complaint" is the equipment is older. I've got a 2012 Cascadia with 760,000 miles on it, but the thing runs like a charm. Other than that I can't complain. Is that better than where you are right now? Idk but it's pretty #### good for me
Salary over $1000 per week guaranteed?

I am, unfortunately, setting in a blizzard right now in nw ND. I am headed for Grande Prairie, Ab. This time of year, you aren't missing much up here. I picked this load up in Houston. Would rather still be there right now.Outdoorsman and Crusader66 Thank this.

Sounds like you're running your ### off, if you are home every 5.5 days for a minimum 34!? That's a load of miles... but that's right up my alley. Benefits sound better than anything I've heard of anywhere, in any company or industry. I'm guessing you live pretty close to your terminal / yard.
Are you running Dry Van, flatbed, reefer, or ?
I'm really not interested in anything other than dry van - and no Hazmat..
How does your company handle road service / breakdowns / repairs? Ours uses Goodyear Road service for tire replacements on the road, and has service agreements with TA / Petro (and I think Flying J... but most work / mainrenance is handles at the company by an excellent group of mechanics and maintenance.
Any chance your company has a yard / terminal near Akron Ohio? If so, message me the name of the company, if you don't mind?! I'd be interested in checking them out. -
Yeah, I'm not interested in seeing it in the winter months... but would love to be there in late July / early Aug to do some fly fishing!
Still, the views I get on the road across my area of travel can't begin to compare. I'm guessing! -
Yeah I run pretty hard, which I don't mind. If I'm away from my family I don't want to be sitting. Sitting irritates me lol. Last week for example Tues thru Fri I drove 625+ miles each day and never touched my 14 in those days. It's usually load in Quad City area IA or IL side, and head east. Deliver, then pick up and head right back west towards QC area. I80 and I74 my 2 most traveled lanes.
I've never had a breakdown on road yet, but I know we have a number for roadside in our truck. Thankfully I've never paid attention to it lol. Since we only have 70ish trucks on the road they do prefer any work done in house. But I've had no issues getting new steers put on or anything else I've asked for.
Sorry they don't have any other terminals besides the 1 which is in IL. Oh I pull dry van no hazmat, and I'd say 75% of loads I pull weigh less than 30k
And yes I live 8 miles from my terminalOutdoorsman Thanks this. -
Sweet... too bad... I'd be looking into that!

Sounds like a good gig. May i ask what company, where is the yard in IL, and what you normally gross? -
I also have guaranteed minimum $1000 a week gross. But its rare. Paid by the hour with O/T from start to finish with my driveway being the terminal. Very happy myself.

Im actually no longer there. There idea of home every weekend was 10 straight weeks of getting home sat morn/early afternoon after driving all night and then leave again sun night the minute my 34 was up. I was seeing my kids more OTR so I quit. The company is DCM transport in Galesburg IL. Not a bad company at all, and tried offering me stuff to stay but id had enough at that point. I was bringing home 800+ and thats with paying $300 per wk in child supportCurbJumper said: ↑Sounds like a good gig.
