Yeah i was thinking the same thing.....If I can learn to drive during the fall to winter season change of weather, well then come the end of the year I will be ready to drive for anyone anywhere.

I still hear good things about USA trucking...I hope to get in this company by the end of the year

I have no reason to stay home now, other than missing my ole family "puppy".( My puppy is 16 years "young".).

Other than that I could tolerate being home once in a while like every two or three months for a few days.

i would rather work and if it means being on the road then that is what I will do. I just want to pay off my bills.......

Ouch! The memory of a boss breathing down the neck !
I have had only ONE foreman do that to me ....I was being "used as an example to others". Everytime this tart came after me I went toe to toe and won.

I will have peace of mind once I get through the training and orientation period, or perhaps, once I realize my first year is over !:biggrin_255:

Do the best you can on the job and try to be on time and honest is the best policy ?rule(s) I have been given.:biggrin_25526:

Retired from the ARMY at 40, crummy low paying jobs, I too am on cabin fever status. Do I need to get my CDL? no, but after 21 years of traveling, it is tough to plant my feet and stay in one place. Like you, kids are grown. Last one is 17. Still have the wife though. (I am no good with the finances.) With my retirement and her job we are doing ok. But since we got socked this year on taxes, I think it is about time to try it.
