Any of you have driven in the LA area know of a good place to hunker down for the night that is south of Castiac, on or near I-5, and that's a good place to (1) park for the night (2) has showers (3) food ???
I shoot down to LA from Seattle from time to time and would appreciate your input. Thanks!

Plan your trip so that you stop for the night at the TA truck stop or the Petro prior to heading up the Grapevine. You want to plan your trips into LA starting out with four hours first thing in the morning depending on load appointments etc. and getting out of LA the same day. The only truckstops are in Ontario on interstate 10 near the intersection of interstate 15 and they are usually full to capacity by 3 to 4 in the afternoon and they charge $20 a night parking. Other then a pilot and another independent truck stop in Castaic you're pretty much out of luck. Down in the Long Beach Harbor area you may find some side streets to park on, but you risk the chance of having free custom art work performed on your truck.quatto, archangelic peon and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I know some local drivers rent spots at small gas stations to park their trucks. Otherwise you have to park on the street, if its legal to do so.
Been picking up/delivering loads around LA and haven't been able to find decent place to park. -
How far south do you go? I got some spots in Carson & Gardena where you are able to park.

Places to park are well guarded secrets. Its best to park outside tge cities and head in.

If you are delivering to the east side I'd go with the Ontario TA. Thee is usually parking available until 6-7 pm when it gets crowded. If you are delivering to south LA I'd stay in Frazier Park Flying J or there is a pay to park truck stop in Castaic across from the Pilot. Allow plenty of time as LA traffic is bad. Take the 210 when possible....

There is a bar next to pilot in Castaic if memory serves me right. They have truck parking behind that bar charging $10 for overnight parking that included a $5 credit at the bar I think. It's been 3 years since so I don't know that is still the case. There were a lot of locals parked there so they may have a weekly or monthly rate.

There is an industrial area south of castaic on Newhall ranch road. Technology drive is the name of the street, you can park on the side street. Cars are parked there during normal business hours so after 7pm you should be able to find a spot.
There is many places to park in the city of Los Angeles, you just have to look for it.quatto Thanks this. -
The Flying J at Frazier Park, I-5 exit 205, is a good place to park overnight. I'm hearing it's up for a tear down and rebuild soon so check before relying on it for a place to park.
The Ontario T/A, I-10 exit 57 / Milliken Ave, is generally crowded later on weekdays but always a place to park on the weekends from Friday afternoon thru Sunday before noonish. The $20 parking fee can be met by buying $20 or more of stuff / food from the truckstop.
