California is raising the fuel tax starting Nov. 1. I know a lot of states have talking about doing this because the Federal Government won't do it.

This past time while at the yard, the little safety brief they like do every now and then was about weigh stations being open and be careful in Cali. And also JCT is getting serious about ending contracts for speeding because it's getting out of hand and the points are climbing.
Apparently, CHP is starting to notice (and not in a good way) our trucks and starting to ticket us more for speeding. What happened is that we have some dummies running 65+mph through Cali. Now I know that a lot of trucks from a lot of companies regularly do 62+, but apparently CHP has had enough of that.
Was talking to another driver last night in Tolleson and he was doing 58 in California and and officer drove up beside him and took his truck number. That officer then called JCT and told them who he was and told them about the driver "speeding" and that he wasn't going to ticket him but to consider this a warning to the company.
So, just be warned that Cali is looking at us now. And don't be surprised if you start getting the red light on the prepass more often.Last edited: Apr 8, 2017
Steel Tiger and dhkwanderer Thank this. -
I've been preaching it for years, slow down in California. I posted this video and got a ton of negative feedback and had to delete a ton of nasty messages on the video commentary. I left the funniest one up, the guy is arguing that the white speed limit signs are 'suggestions' only.
MachoCyclone and Steel Tiger Thank this.
