Crete sends out a special message when a load goes through Indiana warning us to slow down in the 55 mph zones, I guess they have a lot of drivers barreling through them at 62 mph and getting tickets, but if we go to California we don't get the speed message, just the 40 foot rule message

Don't blow my statements out of proportion!#spyder7723 Thanks this. -
My boss told me not to speed at all, since I get paid by the hour I can live with that.
M T, TankerP, dogtrucker and 2 others Thank this. -
I think when I reviewed this thread since the time I visited here, something has gotten stinky like a fish left out too long with several people not being professional with the trash talk etc.
I will say this. If we cannot have a civil discussion among each other without taking potshots, then there is no point. Do we all agree?
There was a time long ago we let em run downgrade. It literally does not matter how fast provided there was a run out that is straight and did not impose too much of a crush on the airride suspension at the bottom. We used them to make time.
Fast forward to today... Ive gone the other way, the heavier the slower. If it takes all day to get to the bottom, that is cool by me. Evidently we have many younger people who do not feel it is so. Thus the tensions that are evident here. -
I dont speed anymore *<- edit*period. It doesnt help me to. I dont care if others do, as long as they dont tailgate.
Ive driven a triple digit truck(back in 99). It was fun for a week. Then I realized it wasn't making me any more money and my stress level was through the roof. Though it was fun to run texas in the middle of the night and just let the ponies go. But you could just about see the fuel gauge move lolLast edited: Apr 11, 2017

It's simply the need for speed.
Seriously, you need help, for your own piece of mind.
Have a nice life.Last edited: Apr 10, 2017

In all honesty I do the speed limit pretty much all the time. Commercial vehicle or personal vehicle. Does it piss me off when someone passes me? Not one bit. Their license, their problem.
Slowpoke KW, REO6205, wore out and 4 others Thank this. -
I got a couple tickets my first year trucking 2011. The California DMV sent me letters with keywords like "Negligent Operator" and, "one more violation in the 12 month period carries a license suspension" for so many months, not sure now. It was at that time that I tripled down on safe driving, following all laws and regs.
I guess it does tick me off that truck drivers out there every day violating so many rules and regs, laws and etiquette, just disrespecting other professional drivers and their own professional license like this is some kind of grand video game except people really can die, needlessly. It ticks me off they get away with and continue to get away with what I couldn't, exceeding the speed limit to accumulate more dollars. I film it to show the karma gods that I have been unduly wronged by the fates and destiny. No not really lol.
I am basically doing research and observing reactions. Overwhelmingly people are more mad that I film someone breaking the law and are nonplused by the law breaker. I find that very interesting and thought maybe it is a one-off so I kept filming and kept posting and kept getting the same hate for my videos over and over. It is just fascinating to me that other professional drivers are not interested in chastising or policing their own colleagues to improve our lot with the government whose solution is to ever increase regulation upon us.Last edited: Apr 11, 2017
