Tell Me About Getting A Mercer Trailer and Equipment

    I have a excellent chance to get into a Lone Mountain Lease truck. I'll probably choose a 587 unless something else comes into their inventory.

    I think I want a stepdeck. I had a step when I worked for a contractor. Seemed to work out ok.

    When I go into Mercer on Monday to get the OK to return, what questions should I ask?
    I think I want a step with ramps, J track, load levelers and all the flatbedding gear.

    I'm considering making this trailer Cali legal.

    How much money will I need down? Any other details I need to know?

    flat rates have actually averaged about 6 cents more per mile than steps so far this year

    Call the trailer department and talk to them. They will tell you what they have available. You will have to purchase whatever equipment you want that isn't included with the trailer, and they may or may not let you pay it out. Depends on what their policy is at the moment. Availability and policy changes and we don't usually keep up with all that.

    i am with mercer for 6 years, dont have a clue about any other boards, what i spoke of is to the money rate for mercer trucks. fact is the step deck market is saturated, and overabundance of trailers compared to loads. i am pointing out a stepdeck isnt a stairway to heaven
