Thanks for the input guys! I did a 1 year lease on a Cascadia(up in Oct). At 60k, it has been a great reliable truck, but style/ride/comfort leave a lot to be desired. It has a 400/1750 DD15 with a DT12 trans...pulls ok for what it is, shifts great, and has jakes that can put you through the windshield lol. That being said, it rides like there is no front suspension...you feel every bump and imperfection in the road, especially out of the front end. It doesn't have what I would call"inspiring handling" compared to the ProStars/Volvos I've driven in the past, but I chock some of that up to the crappy Goodyears it came with.
Looking at possibly upgrading to a new T680/579...both come with 455/1650 Paccar motors, 13 over trans, 3.36 rears. As I stated, I've heard some horror stories about the Paccar, but I barely idle since all of the lease trucks come with TriPac APUs.
This truck has been solid and dependable, but I have some hard thinking to do lol

 

The T680 sleeper is way nicer than the Pete 579 IMHO. The Paccar engine was ok for me the one time I drove one. My current company truck is a T680 with an ISX at 450/1650 with a ten speed. Runs pretty good. Could use some extra power in the hills though.

 

I have another brake chamber leaking. My 2nd pick up is around the corner from a Peterbilt dealership Petro is a couple miles down the road which do you think would get the job the quickest after get last pick up on?

 

Like the condo layout of the T680, but the 579 is #### sexy! Lol. Pretty much whichever would be more comfortable and ride best would be what I'm leaning towards.

It only takes about a hour to fix once you get in the shop. Will the shop call around and see who can do it quickest or will that left up to me?

 

It depends on how much stuff you have, and how the interior of the 579 is spec'd. The 579 is a nice truck, but the way ours is spec'd, there is a serious lack of storage. And if you have a 2nd bunk in it for storage, you don't get a taller roof, it's kinda like a submarine bunk. I would go with the 680 personally...our Pete's ride good, but not the best layout in the sleeper ergonomically.

 

Really all 579's are spec'd like a traditional Pete Mid-roof, ours have single bunks and no back wall bin. Like SSB said if you are a pack rat you'd be hard pressed for space...I'm a minimalist and even cooking in the truck I still have found a place for everything I need and I have stayed out for 6-8 weeks at a time.

The 680 is better if you have lots to store, and a must for a double bunk setup.

 

I think the only options I've seen is either a 2nd bunk or a factory shelf across the back wall. I watch Youtube, and vlogger Allie Knight drives a 579 and I noticed she has a factory shelf back there
