I wish I could come up with a joke about the exchange rate right now.

You probably made more money per kilometer than most drivers in the states were making per mile!

i'll try to dig up a few checks, but i used to run linehaul where i'm at here and i think i was averaging $1350 per week.

But the problem with linehaul is not the money, it's being able to stay awake. Being able to work at 4:30 in the morning etc.

Can you work at night and sleep during the day, decently, is the question. What are you going to do at 3am on a sunday morning?

Big Don and road_runner Thank this.

We don't run turnpike doubles. Only triples, and rocky mountain doubles. Aside from that... Montana pays about $50-$90k a year depending on who you run for and what route you get.

37k at UPS Freight in 2011. But I started in late March and it was a slow year for us, plus the starting pay is low for LTL's but high at top rate in 4 years.

I started out in the middle of the payscale because I came from the city, so I don't really have a good estimate. Maybe @mickeyrat can weigh in on what the first year is like at our place.

So much of it depends on the runs available at a given terminal. Our bottom guys pay some dues at first, but still make real good money.
