so to save some money you to be financially organized and track your money.
you should be obsessed with each dollar you make and see where they come from and how you can reproduce this with specific customers or parties or routes you're going.
Track every single expense possible in a journal/excel file before going to sleep and see at the end of the week where you can improve it.
Money needs attention.
A penny earned is not a penny saved, it's just a penny. So stack up the tactics to save additional money, and manage the work you're doing now better. Be a better car hauler every day.
Yes, that may be very cliche or things that everyone knows, but guess what, because of that people lose track of basic principle that car hauling is just like any other business.
So you're great that you're looking for all this as cash is the oxygen to growing your operations.

So have, you built your business plan or are you just going to wing it?
-
WHY DON'T YOU TRY COMPANY FOR SIX MONTHS before you lease? I'll pledge a HUNDRED BUX and bet I can get some guys to MATCH me...... to the tune of 1k. That COMPANY is what you SHOULD do first.
-
Wish I knew more about you to help, kiddo. I make an extra 100 bux a week running nights. It's like chump change to me..... in a kinda sorda way.
You're gonna be counting pennies.............. the first six months, to even GET that in revenue, without experience, and a plan.
Meet me here in six months, and leme *us* know how its goes/went for you. So many of us have tried.
You do NOT have to lease (fleece) with FFE.. they make it SOUND SOOOOOO GOOOOD.... so YOU CAN PAY FOR THEIR EQUIPMENT~!
Wow.... I wish you the best.. at 23 years old..... wish you'd listen to us "older" hands, man.
If nothing else, work 2 years company, bank every dime, and BUY YOUR OWN DANG Tractor, maybe even a trailer too!
Yeah, you'll have payments, don't we all, in the daily scheme of things..... just saying.
@scottied67 ... any final words for this young lad??????
Over and out for the moment.....
Be safe, guys.driverdriver, Kwan23 and scottied67 Thank this. -
Worst case, he's young enough to bounce back from total financial calamity.
Best case, take heart that many of the biggest trucking companies out there started out with just one truck and built their empires.
Most of us end up somewhere in between with a comfortable retirement and memories of our glorious victories.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
I do have a business plan for the most part thanks to family and most of you guys also another reason I'm going to lease is I want to be able to take a week of home time after staying out 2 months straight and then home a week for every 2 months it's walk away lease and it's not just little more money and freedom along with alot of others reason I'm aware of the negatives about it but I'm going to save and maximised my budget to build.... and then after a year I'm going to find a local company...... short story of my plan

If you are definitely going to do this, I suggest listening to 2 people that helped me and many others become debt free and run a successful business. Dave Ramsey for your personal finances and Kevin Rutherford for your business/trucking. Some people don't like either and that's ok with me because I know what they speak about worked for me. Dave got me debt free including my home at 35 years old 15 years ago. Kevin's advice got me getting 6mpg in a non EGR or DPF glider car carrier, where 5 mpg is the industry standard for carhaulers. If you invest what you can from this point forward in good mutual funds starting with Roth IRA's that are automatically deducted from your checking account and then later an individual 401k where you can invest much more, until you are my age, you can become a millionaire by 50 and several times over by the time you reach normal retirement age at 65. Those that say you can't become wealthy in trucking, don't know what they are talking about!Last edited: May 28, 2017
G13Tomcat, Kwan23 and scottied67 Thank this. -
No LLC until you are netting $70,000 plus after all deductions. This is an old business practice that is totally unnecessary. A sole proprietor works very well untill then and is much cheaper.Kwan23 Thanks this.
