Was an O/O 15 years ago...don't believe the hype, it's not all it's cracked up to be...and this was before all the new HOS regulations shell game, Obamacare, and all the new emissions alphabet soup.

Well, it's gonna cost me between 150-200 miles within the same timeframe (drops Monday). And this isn't the 1st time weekend/after hours op's has played the bait-n-switch game with me...bait me into taking a crap load with a good follow up load to help out, then after I deliver the crap run, they pull the follow up load and give me a less productive load.

Piss poor planning. After hours/weekend has done this more than once. They just can't plan for ####. Wouldn't be surprised if they came to work in Depends because they couldn't plan a trip to the bathroom with out getting lost.

Exactly, and I'm in no way ****ting on Big G. Some people just aren't wired to deal with forced dispatch and company dispatch BS

It's not a problem with forced dispatch, it has a lot to do with incompetence...I have spoken to more than one driver that has been here a while who has said that the planners have lost their minds and the planning department for the most part has gone down the toilet. That's why @tow614 stated that they are taking the turnover situation more seriously, people are just getting feed up with how planning is doing things now and moving on. I personally hope they get it together, because it isn't a bad company, it's just having some issues.

You should discuss this with your DM or ops manager.

The problem IMO being dispatched is:
    A) most dispatchers have never even sat in a truck, let alone run one.
    B) could really care less about the how the drivers pay/schedule is effected by their dispatching/scheduling. Their #1 priority is getting freight moved as cheaply/efficiently as possible for the company.

I already have a couple weeks ago, the problem is, he sets me up before he goes home, then they do this after he leaves, then it's up to him to clean up their mess when he comes in next. He busts his tail and seems to be on the ball. He already knows I have a low opinion of their abilities and prefer not to deal with them, but like death and taxes, dealing with them is unavoidable.

I personally think that as long as they are trying to get 75% of our drivers home every weekend this will continue. It has to be a nightmare trying to make 400 whining drivers happy every weekend. I know I wouldn't want their job.

On this point I agree but trucking companies are in the business of moving freight efficiently.
As a driver we must understand this is part of the job.

I think it's more than that...this happens all days of the week with the overnight dispatch. It is why I put my phone in "do not disturb" mode when I log off duty for the day...and my Q/comm is behind my windshield curtain so if they send a message asking for help, I don't see it by morning, and by then, it's too late.
