The problem isn't what load I do or don't do, but when they entice you with a good run to repay you when you "bail them out" because of whatever reason (truck breakdown, other driver delayed at previous customer, planner has head up ###, etc)...then after the "bail out" is over, the next shift pulls the good run and puts you on a lesser run...it seems deceptive. Because of all the switcheroo crap, I lost the opportunity for an extra 450-500 miles this weekend. And since we're paid the performance bonus on monthly miles, that may make a difference in not only my weekly paycheck but lose a penny on 10k miles. This happened last month too, and I was 380 miles short of the .04 cpm bonus (if they don't round up).
Short and simple way to get on my bad side is to lie to or deceive me... Trucking sucks sometimes, I know this. Don't give me b.s. if there is bad news, or a bad load, and don't make it look like it isn't a bad load then change it after I accept it. Raven did the very same crap all the time, then after I had enough of their ######## I erupted on my dispatcher so bad she was in the boss' office in tears. I don't want it to get like that again.

I used to have this issue ar Knight. I finally told my dispatcher that it was like if I handed her a $100 bill then later came to her and took it back. It seemed to help a little.

New Driver here does Big G make you pay for Weight Scales and do they give u a cash advance like 100 dollars a week
-
They have a $100 advance available starting on Monday morning I believe. I don't take much advance money off the card unless I need something like washer fluid or a replacement light for the truck/trailer. I have my weekly road expense money loaded on a prepaid debit card every payday.tow614 Thanks this. -
I hate the first day back after vacation. .
Especially finding out I now have a new DM.
Been with my old one for over 2 years and really like her....
At first I was not happy until I spoke to my new DM on the phone and recognized his voice and started laughing....
I have worked with him a lot on weekends and really like him.. he has a laid back attitude like me and I think we will get along fine.Lonesome, truckerman75103 and Knucklehead Thank this. -

About to attempt a new experience at Big G. A visit to the shop...
*update...Deason shop...#1. New inverter, A service, air leak fixed (we hope), replaced a fuse for my trailer ABS and ordered a new pigtail socket for my truck to be installed the next time I am thru here. I give them a 5 crescent wrench rating (5 out of 5)
Now if only my load were here. Dipatch swears it is here, but I walked the lot 4x and it is most definitely not here. I am hoping someone newer than me dropped it at 840 by mistake.
*update 2* load was at Deason, just on a different trailer than the load info showed. Glad I had the initiative to look for it last night...but now the trailer has a marker light out...and this is going to be a nasty arse trailer inside when it is empty...empty barrels....Mr. Daniels fine sippin product is leaking out of the bottom of the trailer from the leftover drainage from the empties. There was a puddle under the nose of the trailer before I hooked up, and you smell the booze. No wonder the guard dog looks like a homeless drunk...it must help clean up the lot when these trailers sit here and drain out.Last edited: Jun 7, 2017

I can tell this gig isn't going to last long for me...I thought I had this load/wrong trailer straightened out last night. Then, just before I am about to deliver, someone else in Op's (not my dispatcher) calls me, appearantly having not read the load call(with the correct trailer) or the messages about the original trailer on the load not being there and it being on this trailer instead...he proceeds to mouth off to me about the wrong trailer and why didn't I discuss this with my dm...it wasn't until I unloaded on him about read the messages about this, and my load calll with the correct trailer...and the reason I didn't discuss this with my DM this morning is because it was fixed (I was told) last night....because some of us don't wait until the last GD minute to do our F'g jobs...
Oh, and they had me on a pplan from Bowling Green to VA, then VA to FL...but before my DM got back from lunch and I could ask if they were trying to send me home again...they sent me a 3rd pplan from Lexington to MI...I had to ask which one of the 3 was real and how long before they changed their minds again...
Honestly...they need to fire the entire planning staff, hire some chimps and a few trainers...put all the truck numbers on ping-pong balls, all the loads on a bulletin board...the chimp pulls a ping-pong ball, then flings poop at the loads...which ever load gets the most poop get assigned to the ping-pong ball truck. It couldn't be any less organized than what I've experienced so far.Last edited: Jun 7, 2017
