How many miles would you guess I have left in these brakes, or should I change them?

Those pads look pretty good for a while, wear bars still there on the sides of the pads.
If you ever have a oppertunity to put new pads on, do it. There are some hills around this Nation worth the extra expense.David Schwarz Thanks this. -
Yeah the drums needed replaced so ill just change the brakes since ill have to remove all the drums anyways. Truck has really low miles but I think tires and drums were swapped before they sent it to auction. I thought the shoes were done because the wear line was behind the drum. Already knew the drums were done but changing the brakes couldn't hurt either.

It might or might not had been replaced before the sale. Many company drivers over use the brakes and don't know how to downshift and use the engine brake. An o/o that knows brakes are expensive tries to avoid using them if posible. It happens very often that you see company trucks using brakes on a small downhill when you just need to go 1 shift down and put jet brakes, no need to even touch brakes. But on the other hand my truck when I bought it would not let me do more than 1700 rpms regardless of how much I press the gas, and to go from 10 to 9 at 60 you need 2000 or so to get it in, so I needed to use jet and regular brakes at the time. I have the computer free now so I can do that.
