If you ever get a chance to do something else... Take it. Transportation is a crappy field to get into

To answer your question-because the people who work in the office routing stops and dispatching are usually brain dead ####ing morons who have never had to drive a truck doing P&D. These office pukes are are living proof that ####,just like cream, rises to the top of the toilet bowl.

Yep,why send one truck to deliver to a customer when you can send two! And then corporate #####es about wasting fuel.

Yay Monday July 3! Started with 9 deliveries. Pulled one out before I left since I knew they were closed today. Went to the first 2 stops-closed-swung by the terminal and dropped that freight off. Went to next 2 stops-closed-swung by terminal and dropped that freight off. Went to next stop-open-but a tall pallet in the nose which was not tied down(thanks you ####ing lazy ####### dock "workers") had fallen over onto the short pallet next to it. Went back to terminal to get help stacking that stuff onto 2 pallets and shrink wrapped. Went back out and got the last 3 deliveries off. Started with 9 deliveries brought 5 back! Next took lunch then went to do a pickup at a grocery store. "Do you have a BOL?" "No". Terminal texts me on the tablet after I told them that no one has a BOL to just pick it up,it is a mis-delivery we need to bring back to the terminal. After that I do another pickup and get fuel before going back to the terminal to pick up an empty pup for a drop and hook at a volume shipper. Clocked out at a bit over 8 hours. Off tomorrow.

drove a nice easy 466 miles last night. Denver to Raton and back. Waited 35 minutes at the dock for a trailer that would be ready by the time I hooked. Yeah, not.

Anyway, i noticed 90% of the trucks on the road last night (july 3rd/4th morning) were LTL/package line haul's or Food Service or fuel haulers.

Everyone wants to make money in trucking, no one wants to work our crappy hours.

o_O:rolleyes:o_O:rolleyes:o_Oo_O:rolleyes:Here at a stop right now I've already thrown it aside problem is stop after it isn't open now either and throwing two stops aside is to much, so I'm sitting here hopefully by 9am they get me in so I can get going. Holliday fun...o_O.

I'll be happy (I think) when school starts up again and all this blind route and working on holidays stuff is in the rear view mirror.

Holidays can kind of blow the stops even though they order for Holliday delivery it's like there all caught off gaurd when you show up.

Seen lots of those trucks here, to me they are like tandums, even the single axle on the back it just like a school bus, just shorter wheel base, but still have that tail swing. I think those trucks would be fun to drive. Because of oil and gas here, we have lots wide load flat beds hauling heavy equipment or battery buildings, they have to get Fortis out a lot and raise the lines or the highway guys to move the lights so they can get through, fascinating to watch. But these long wide trucks have a real hard time turning down sharper roads, taking out hedges and sidewalks as they turn.
