I'm glad to see you still around! Man, we told you from the GET GO to go with FFE. I've got kids your age, it takes awhile for y'all to listen, I know...LoL. I'm still warning you that KLLM will want you to LEASE. Man, im almost 3x your age, and I won't even go that route.
Good luck on your next road test; it happens. If all you did was curb a tire, no biggie. Shouldn't be an auto fail anyway, but yeah, I know. It is. That's nothing, man.
We all still do it once in awhile, rest assured!

Keep us posted; if you start a new thread, please tag me in it. These darn "alerts" aren't working that well anymore. Go look in the "morehouse" thread...many of us guys are complaining about it, LoL!

Glad to hear you are still around and kicking it, man!

Pm if you have anything I can help you with; I didn't forget ya! ;)
    Tom

Guys, just got back from eye Dr. Had appointment for the 5th, but the Dr was a no show. Eye is healing well. Will go back in three more weeks. If the gas bubble,he put in has desolved by then , he hopes to cut me loose. But he did lift the sleep position restriction , been having to sleep sitting up, head level . So tonight get to sleep in bed , after 3 weeks. Just not on my back. Gas bubble again.

Awh man, sorry...but it does sound as things are looking up for you, (no pun intended!) no matter. Sleeping in one's bed in ANY position, is a luxury, I know.
Wish you the best; keep us posted. GodSpeed on the healing, man!

You can pull turnpike 48" with a regular single dolley as long as the axle weight is under 20k. UPS package doesn't use tandem dollies out here they pull turn pikes with a single axle dolley. I see one all the time here with a turnpike set. I don't know if there is weight restriction cause of the tire or as long you got another axle you can pull more weight. I'm assuming you can pull heavier then 20k as long as there are two axles not 1.

Whats the minimum experience you'd suggest for switching from otr to ltl. My uncles have told 2 years and a clean driving record you can go just about anywhere

YRC freight was one year experience, but will hire just about anyone now.

ODFL probably pays the best. I topped out at $20/hour with my company. By comparison, those dudes make $28/hour in our state. If you have at least one year in, they are worth knocking on their door.

My carrier USF Reddaway is self insured and doesn't even require experience if they need bodies. I assume our sister companies New Penn and USF Holland are the same.

Not sure about ABF. I know they are 100% union. So be ready to join one if you are considering it.

If the money and hometime are good enough ill do union it don't matter to me. I have a family friend driving for odfl been there going on 30 years in the richland ms terminal. So generally a year or two is good enough with a good driving record

If you have a 1 year apply to those guys don't wait for 2 years of driving. YRC USF will hire out of school.
