I'm trying to think of a way to get my GPS off the windshield and dash...thinking about here..

    IMG_20170720_131203342.jpg

Cb is too big for the hole (that's what she said...) Just don't know how I would mount it, no real flat surfaces in the cubby.

I'd mount it where the qc is mounted but the aux light blank switch bank is in the way. Id want it flush against the panel not on a mount sticking out.

    Any ideas?

I used a tablet mount that swings out when I need access to my QC etc. I am not in my truck or I would show ya. That is an interesting place up there but will the GPS signal get to it?

Yeah, if you look at it I put the garmin into diagnostic mode for the GPS to make sure it was feasible. . Its getting the same accuracy as it had on my windshield, 10-11 ft accuracy.

What does the back of the GPS look like?

I'm using the MagBuddy Dash mount that is sold at TA/Petro. Works great. It sticks to any surface. Comes with alcohol swabs to clean the surface and metal back plates. Every now and then it comes unstuck to the dash, but a quick dunk into water for the suction cup and let it air dry. Reclean the surface and it sticks again.

I would use a old piece of wood behind the hole with some gorilla double faced tape. Then mount the GPS to the wood.

That's a ###### little sticky. Downside is I wouldent want the GPS falling on my head if it did come unstuck.

They do have a smaller one called the MagBuddy Anywhere. I have one in the back for my phone. It has yet to come undone. I can't even force to come off the wall

    Nice spot.

Double sided foam tape would do it.

Mine is mounted on the dash with a ball mount self stick standoff. It's about an inch oot.

Ps. Double stick holds this in place:
